I remember thinking how brave the man had been, he looked straight into the camera while being abused and was unflinching. Later I learned who the man was...if you want to see a shorter video or pics just google "chechclear".
I also know that the chechen scum had given the video to his mother. And Russia aired it on television more than a few times, as well. Probably to garner support for the war with Chechnya at the time.
First time I saw the video I was very nauseated and almost threw up. I see blood and guts all the time. This video has a very evil and violent nature to it. So beware. The chechen steps on the head of the man, who is lying on a tarp, and then plunges a knife into his neck very suddenly. Quite close up.

One final note of interest that I recall was that the Russians had labeled him as a deserter but his mother knew better and went to Chechnya to find out what had happened to him. Unthinkable. Incredibly dangerous. And there she met the man who had killed her son and he gave her the video of it. Part of that story is here.
