My Dad was generally conservative but voted Democrat. He was a teacher and always said that, *most people voted their pocket books). In short he was bought off.

Which is EXACTLY why many people (especially women) vote democrat. They do not want to TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for the outcome of a DRUNKEN ONE NIGHT STAND (getting pregnant), so... they vote for Democrat Politicians, whose LEADERSHIP consists of AVOIDING ANY RESPONSIBILITY for the LAWS they pass, or the ones they personally violate.
