A Rutgers University freshman apparently killed himself after two classmates used a hidden camera to air the teen's dorm room sexual activity on the internet, WPIX-TV reported.
The distraught student's car - with his cell phone and computer inside - was found last Thursday near the George Washington Bridge, the television station reported.
According to WPIX, authorities believe the unidentified 18-year-old plunged to his death in the Hudson River. New Jersey authorities have refused to provide his identity in an effort to protect the victim..
The stunning details emerged one day after authorities announced the arrests of two Rutgers freshmen for cyber-voyeurism in the case..
The pair used a hidden dorm room camera to stream their fellow student's sex session on the internet, officials said..

Damn, the cruelty of young people is just astounding. But I wondered why kill oneself and thought perhaps he was a virgin or something. Didn’t consider gay sex. At any rate, I hope they throw the book at these kids who filmed him.
Wow! I remember reading a little about this yesterday, but Wow! Can’t believe the guy killed himself over this.
When I first read the story yesterday, it portrayed the resident of the room as the only “victim” in the case. A sex act usually requires two people. Where is the second “victim” and why no outcry over their “victimization?”
I guess there are exceptions; self-gratification and bestiality come to mind.

Does it really matter what ‘kind of sex’ was taking place? The kid killed himself.

It is because they have not matured far enough past infantile narcissism. As one matures (assuming they ARE maturing), they become better at thinking about the feelings of others before they do things.
It is why most mailboxes are bashed by baseball bats swung by people under the age of 22. And this “prank” is actually a similar thing. I’ll bet the perps even feel really bad about it and, if they had it to do over again they would not. But you cannot just continue to excuse this sort of thing.
Possible, too, that the other “victim” wasn’t human but instead was a facimile thereof.
Just trying to list ALL possibles...
I think it has more to do with the way they are raised. My 9 and 11 year old children are not infantile or narcissistic.
What is left of humanity is sinking fast. What a horribly cruel thing to do to someone.

WTF!!! He was someone child who was victimized for no reason.
What came to my mind was it was a joke and a set up to humiliate him. You know, like the who can get the ugliest date crap.

I wonder if he’s saying “yay” now that this kid killed himself?
Now this is a better case for Felony Wiretapping than the case of the mototcylist who filmed the off duty cop pulling a gun on him.
