Now that would be a surprise. They need to toss off the shackles of the socialist plantation.
This doesn’t surprise me at all. I work in Baltimore City and see a real change in attitudes and mind set.
Except I’ll believe it when that community doesn’t vote 90+% dem.
Not a surprise really to anyone who has discussed politics to members of their congregation who are black.
“Now that would be a surprise. They need to toss off the shackles of the socialist plantation.”
This is one of the things the GOP can never, ever seem to capitalize on. Many blacks, and Latins for that matter, are SOCIAL conservative. They are not fiscal conservatives for various reasons, and appeals to them are usually made on self interested fiscal grounds.
This number really does not surprise me, although I would have thought the support would be a little less around 1:4 rather than 1:3.
Hoo boy...this is good.
If I was up for the fireworks, I’d email this article to all of my liberal family members. They all think I’ve been kidnapped and brainwashed by the ‘evil’ conservatives, and forced to march in the ‘racist’ Tea Party rallies .. LOL
If the idiots at the GOP don’t start pandering to them and patronizing them offering handouts and same old same old and instead, starts to stress a return to Christian values, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a lot more.
It’s, still, a profound shame that the majority of black voters (as well as the majority of all other minority voters) continue to be “stuck on socialism”, after many decades.
If only.
Wonder how this will influence November election.
IIRC there is a large number of AA candidates running for congress on the GOP ticket.
Just email it...One never knows when a tiny spark lights the fire or gives one of them permission to join you...and after one joins the rest will follow.
In a couple of weeks we will see what percentage of blacks vote against obambi. Any group of people who supports a leader who advocate the killing of their babies is not worth including in any tent.
‘...[T]he majority of black voters (as well as the majority of all other minority voters) continue to be stuck on socialism...’
Few Asians or immigrant Indians buy into it.
They won’t vote against him. They will stay home. The ones who do go to the poll will be as reliably Democrat as always. There will be fewer who bother to vote is all.
You’re right. We have a number of excellent conservative black Republican candidates and all deserve to win.
Sarah Palin has endorsed most, if not all of them, and not because of their race, but because they’re great candidates.
Lt Col. Adam West of Florida is one and Tim Scott of South Carolina is another.
Second, the question does not track to any specific Tea Party candidates, which would be more meaningful. It's like the question: would you vote for a black person for President? Why yes, of course I would, in principle. I would not vote for the current (half-black) President, or for any black person currently in Congress.
Frank Luntz has been claiming for about -- oh, all of his career -- that a black Republican ascendancy based on social issues is just around the corner. It's baloney. The 10-12% of blacks who are conservative are very conservative. The 90% who aren't are foaming at the mouth leftists. They are never coming over to the side of goodness and light.
After telling pollsters all this, 95% of them will go into the phone booth and pull the lever for Democrats.
Remember all those people in Harlem saying they approved of Obama’s choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate? Etc.
That's some strong encouragement. Thanks. It's hard to resist your logic, although I still feel hesitant to open a can of worms that I'm not in the mood to deal with.
My family members are so solidly liberal, that I fear they'd take it the wrong way - in other words, they'd view it as a make-wrong, not as an invitation to broaden their minds and hearts.
I kind of feel as though they'd need to hear this from someone other than me, to accept it.
People are just sick and tired of the status quo. This goes for Democrats and Republicans!
We want change, real change, not the crap Obama spouted off.
