Conservative Activists Try to Boot Judges Who Blocked Health Care Ballot Question (FL)
Fox News Network ^ | 28 Sep 2010 | Fox News

Tea Party-linked activists are looking for vengeance after the Florida Supreme Court rejected a ballot initiative aimed at sparing the state from a key provision in the federal health care overhaul.

The state's highest court last month ruled against a ballot question asking voters to approve an amendment to the state constitution stating that residents would not have to follow the new federal requirement to buy health insurance. Before the decision, Florida was set to be one of four states putting that question to voters in November.

Conservatives now want Floridians to express their dissatisfaction with the law in a different way -- by voting out the judges who shot down the question.

Leftists outnumber Constitutionalists on the FL Supreme Court 5-2. They denied us the right to amend our state constitution. That is a fundamental violation of our right to self government. They said the ballot summary was "misleading." Tough. We were once a self governing people.

Dump the tyrants Jorge Labarga and James Perry. Vote "No" to retain Labarga and Perry.

Retain the Constitutionalists Canady & Polston.

Never forget what the FLSC did in 2000 in Bush v. Gore.

Bastards.

Vengeance? Really. Why isn't it called "accountability"? The GOP had overwhelming majorities in the Florida legislature after the Bush v Gore post-election mess, aided and abetted by the SCOFLAWs (Supreme Court of Florida). The GOP did nothing to impeach the partisan justices, who tried to subvert our electoral system.

This is why the Tea Party exists, to do the job the GOP refuses to do. RINO's and Country Club GOP'ers, get ready to pack your bags. Your day is long past.

Why don’t they have any funding for this cause from the Tea Party if it is this important? Why only a word of mouth campaign? Seriously, a chance to throw out activist judges.

I know I am voting “No” on these judges and would appreciate the word getting out! This should be a funded cause. Judges that overrule the will of the people should be thrown out on their butts. This act would be more important than any single congressional seat.

The groups are embarking on an uphill battle, which Phillips acknowledged. They have no funding, are not planning to run any ads and are trying to launch a word-of-mouth campaign.

FL elsupremo judges are typically retained 60-70%

Citizen2Citizen estimates that only 820,000 votes against retention could remove these jerks.

From the article: “Phillips also noted that in Florida state history, no judge has ever been voted out.”

It’ high time we put these five judges in the unemployemt line, two this year and three more in 2012.

I understand that Canady & Polston are Constitutional judges & should be retained.

Labarga & Perry should be removed.

Absolutely.

It makes my blood boil to think that five blackrobes overruled the will of the people expressed by their legislators.

So the five d@mn judges thought the ballot summary was misleading. What they think in that regard is irrelevant. Judges are not gods! They do not decide what goes into our constitution.

We Floridians take the state Constitution very seriously. We want everything in it to be perfect. It sets the standard for all State Constitutions. What other state has a Constitutional Amendment protecting pigs?

Article X, Section 21, "Limiting cruel and inhumane confinement of pigs during pregnancy."

Right you are, Labarga & Perry should be voted out this year. The other three to be voted out are Pariente, Lewis and Quince but they won’t be on the ballot for rettention until 2012.

Canady and Polston should be retained this year.

"Canady and Polston should be retained this year."

Thanks for confirming this.

I'm looking for a Conservative online voter recommendation site for District 11 - Pinellas. All the ones so far are all outdated or for the primaries.

Any one have a clue for help on the ammendments?

It’s WAY past time for some judges to get a “Texas enema”, ie, a boot in the ass.

The same five activist supremes nixed two other constitution amendment ballot initiatives beside the 0bamaCare issue:

This is old news but it's new to me.

Gracias (a little spanish lingo). It is news to me as well.

I just read the Article of our FL Constitution regarding the judiciary. What a mess. It appears that the Tallahassee Blackrobes can constitutionally do what they did.

Tomorrow morning I intend to call a local radio talk show out of Panama City. I think Burnie Thompson will be all over this.
