CNN has extended its contract with AC360″ anchor Anderson Cooper, keeping him on the network long-term. The contract extension comes as Cooper signed a deal with Telepictures and Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution to host a daily syndicated talk show.
In all likelihood, the extension came as Cooper and CNN reworked his contract to allow him to do the syndie series.
I am pleased that Anderson Cooper has extended his relationship with CNN and will be with us for years to come, said CNN Worldwide president Jim Walton in a statement. I am also pleased to congratulate Anderson on his new relationship with Telepictures. We think it will be good for Anderson, good for CNN and good for Time Warner.
I remain as committed as ever to my program on CNN, and will be with CNN for years to come, said Cooper in a statement.
Maybe Kelly is GAY also? Or maybe she thinks she has a chance hoping Cooper is AC/DC?
In this case the term is not a dishonest slur.
Damned if I know (though I truly do doubt that she’s a lesbo) but she oohs and aahs over doogie Howser also, always talking about going out to eat with him and Joe Blow (his partner, husband?) though I can’t remember his name. It’s like she feels the need to make folks think they’re straight when most people in this country knows they’re not! Sorta sickening..........and the way she acts with Cooper A really, really makes me sick....and he’s got the most sickening giggle I’ve ever heard, either on a woman or a (and in his case I use this word loosely) man!
You beat me to the punch line...CNN makes a long-term investment in a “host” who routinely finishes third in his time slow—and they wonder why their ratings are in the toilet.
Also, ya gotta love Warner Bros. TV giving Cooper his own daytime talk show. Let’s see...he has no audience on a cable news channel, so that means he’s the perfect choice for syndication.
The stupidity of many broadcasting execs is the stuff of legend (Sitting in on planning session for a 1960s documentary on homosexuality, then-CBS News President Fred Friendly declared that most people really don’t know what gays “do,” and demanded that host Mike Wallace include a segment explaining homosexual sex. Wallace found a doctor, who explained the “act” in graphic terms, and took the footage back to Friendly. Needless to say, that explanation didn’t make the final cut).
Friendly, who lasted just two years running CBS’s news division, is a veritable genius compared to some of today’s “suits” in the broadcasting biz. Paying Anderson Cooper more money for a last-place cable show? And, writing him another check for a daytime show that’s already DOA? Priceless.
Somewhere at Fox, Roger Ailes is laughing his a— off.
Wow, talk about pissing your money away.
Frantzie, I’m shocked you’re not defending his homosexuality!
The humanity!
LOL!
Well if someone uploads his private videos and he jumps of the GW Bridge. I would mourn him (not).
Actually he would probably be fair game because he is a public person. Wait - I take that back. Does a person with a TV show with 200 viewers count as a public person.
Anderson Cooper is gross.
