For many living in a terror-spooked country, it might seem like a great government innovation: Use vans equipped with mobile X-ray units to scan vehicles at major sporting events, or even randomly, for bombs or contraband

I question just who it is that is making these bombs or whatever the feds are looking for? What are these people doing here? Oh, yeah, never mind. They’re here because the feds don’t feel it’s necessary to secure the border or kick out those with expired student visas or not issue visas to anyone who can make an X on the bottom line.
it’ll be so much more efficient when they just make everyone get a chip implant.
And people laughed at my foil lined rooms.
Look at out for these vans at Tea Party rallies!
Now we know the real reason for getting rid of lead paint!

They aren’t xrays but I still don’t support this on the grounds that cars shouldn’t be searched via technology.
These kind of searches should be strictly for terrorism and if they see anything they can’t relay it to someone for an enforcement action unless it is terror related.
I can see this kind of thing being used to look in your house next (although the courts already ruled that this is illegal)
Next thing I know, there will be an empty beer can in the bottom of my car under my seat that fell there during a recycling bottle return run.
I get stopped for driving with an open container. There seem to be countless scenarios possible.
It’s just so much more efficient to let them in and then patrol in the slim hopes of preventing some kind of terrorist attack, than to secure the borders and round up and deport any who don’t belong here, dontcha know?
There doesn’t seem to be much hope for this world much longer...
I think they are just doing it to get a better view of those mud-flap girls on trucks.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Do the peeps doing the mobile xray wear protective gear? If so, here’s your sign.
When I have dental xrays, they put a shield over my chest. Is the govt gonna provide us with shields to protect us from harm from mobile xrays?
LOL
:(
How? Get a few cardboard boxes, cut them in half on the diagonal, line the inside with aluminum foil. Orient the open side toward the street or direction you might think the radiation will come from.
What you have built is known as a corner reflector. Within a fairly broad angle, any radiation coming in will be reflected right back to the origin at a much higher amplitude than expected, and thoroughly blind and maybe damage the receivers.
Yeah, I used to work in a related field.
Where is their probable cause to randomly search vehicles with this technology? What a crock.
What can I line the trunk of my car with that will reflect X-Rays and burn-out their receivers? Maybe a material that could be formed into a parabolic reflector to concentrate the reflected energy back on a portion of the receiver, thus overloading it and burning it out, or hitting the operators with an unhealthy dose.
Yes that's mean and spiteful. When my government starts treating me this way, that's what their minions get back.
