This is the most awesome thing I've seen all month.
This man stood up to thugs operating with the imprimatur of the State, and he did it for all of us. We are all indebted to him.
It is a shame he had to go through all of this. I hope he got a nice settlement, but that is not enough. The cops involved should be charged with kidnapping and should do prison time. Yes, I know, it will never happen, but I can dream, can't I?

Oh, and do not try this at home, without significant preparation both legal and mental, would be my advice.

So, was he really wearing a kilt or not?
Maybe the cops got a little over-excited.

Sadly the slip into JBT is all too often automatic for many LEO. The “us” vs. “them” and respect my authority attitudes are a very dangerous path.
When things turn really bad LEO’s are going to need law-abiding gun owners but sadly to few of them see that.

you hate an armed populace for the same reason every other tyrant does- it's a threat to your power. This is the first and only dishonest thing in the story. The officer hates any threat to his safety. Legitimate or not, there is a difference. I promise you, those officers with their weapons pulled weren't thinking about what fun it would be to kill somebody. They were in full-rush paranoia, almost a state of psychosis. It's one reason why so many cops are lousy shots. They fill themselves with such bile to the point that, when the time comes, it is uncontrollable.

A worthwhile read. It is gratifying to see that even in this Age of Unreason, one man with courage can still make a majority.

Great read and despite the inconvenience suffered I am glad things didn’t go as horribly wrong here as in Nevada where a man was gunned down simply because he was carrying.
