GOP nominee for governor to NY Post editor: "I’ll take you out" (Can Paladino control his temper?)

We’re late to this one, but oh well. The editor in question is Fred Dicker, who’s covered Albany for the Post since forever and whom Paladino accuses of being in the tank for Andrew Cuomo (maybe with some justification). Last weekend, the Post ran a story about the child Paladino had with a former mistress 10 years ago and reportedly sent a photographer to the house where Paladino’s daughter lives to get a shot of her. Here’s their campaign statement about it; that invasion of privacy is what spurred Paladino to tell Dicker he’d take him out. Paladino also wants to know why his affair is the subject of a Post blockbuster cover story while Cuomo’s affairs are left uncovered. The Post’s reply: There’s no evidence of any Andrew Cuomo affairs. Paladino’s reply to that: There will be soon.

So there’s the context you need for the clusterfark you’re about to see. My worry here is that, as much as people will sympathize with Paladino for wanting to protect his daughter, New Yorkers have had two massive trainwrecks in a row as governor. In any other state this year, a tea partier who’s willing to be a loose cannon to shake up government is a good thing. In New York, given the past three years, maybe not so much. People are weary of drama, I think, and Paladino going around threatening to take a baseball bat to Albany and to “take out” reporters (he clarified today to say he meant it in the sense of taking out the trash) is, perhaps, not the best way to assure them that he’ll be different. Especially since his opponent, by dint of his parentage, recalls an era when the drama in the capital wasn’t so lurid.

The latest poll of likely voters from Marist, out just this afternoon: Cuomo 53, Paladino 38. Survey USA and Quinnipiac had the race within single digits just last week, which might have been noise or might have been a bounce Paladino got from winning the primary. I’m curious to see how the next round of numbers looks, especially now that this clip’s getting attention on the local news.

If Paladino had KICKED HIS ASS I would have been even more happy.

I am WAY PAST being tired of the liberal media butt-boys for democraps being allowed to do or say anything to our candidates, but giving democraps a pass.

WHERE IS CUOMO ANYWAY? Is he the INVISIBLE CANDIDATE?

DOES HE APPROVE OF THE PRESS STALKING CARL’S DAUGHTER? (did he send them?)

It's my understanding that Palladino himself revealed that he had a daughter as a result of an affair.

Why did the NY Post find it necessary to dig further?

The post is contemptible for putting a photographer on the young child of Paladina. He should have reacted.

In fact, he should have decked the guy.

The kids are off limits, sleazebags.

After having a reporter sent to perv in the window of his 10 year old daughter, I’d say Palladino treated him with considerable restraint. When given the facts, normal people see this action as a positive. It is only the political class that would see it as a problem

RE: why are you posting this crap, its old news.

This is NOT old news. It was just two days ago and is still being discussed in the papers and talk shows ( just heard it on Curtis Sliwa’s show this morning).

How old does something have to be in order for it to be considered “old”?

I find Paladino’s temper and willingness to fight our enemies evidence of the desperately-needed American spirit that seems to be nonexistant among the Ruling Class eunuchs in DC.

We are at war for our survival; patriots better quickly find their spine, guts, and cajones in order for us to win our country back.

It’s New York, what do you expect. I think this will actually be a plus for Paladino.

Dicker is a Democrat, and in the tank for the teachers’ unions, as I recall. That would explain just about everything.

Can Paladino control his temper?

I hope not. We already got all the politicians we need who can “control their temper”. Go Long. Go Rogue!

Now I know this guy is the "right" candidate... smears and allegations from the commies always make it easy to figure out who will make "conservative" changes. However, he seems like a "thug" to me, but I think I would react similar if some pervert was stalking my daughter!

Yep.

There are times when you have to fight fire with fire.

Stalking a TEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER is beyond the pale.

I am only sorry he did not verbally degrade that monster and all of the pack that would attempt to invade the privacy and security of a child.

I am sure he DID CONTROL HIS TEMPER. My husband would not have controlled his, and I don't honestly know if I would object had he not.
