Interview with Senator Lindsey Graham (Graham "ready" to work with Pelosi, Reid, Obama on amnesty)
CNN / Real Clear Politics ^ | 2010-09-29

Posted on 10/01/2010 10:54:09 PM PDT by rabscuttle385

(snip)

BLITZER: Are you ready to work with the Democrats on immigration reform?

GRAHAM: Yes, I'm ready to solve the problem -- the immigration problem once and for all. Start with securing the border, and if I'm not willing to work on immigration reform? Why am I up here? Because it's a huge problem for the country. Start with border security. I'm willing to do anything that makes America stronger as long as I get something for it.

Start with securing the border

Then that is the only discussion to have until the border is secure.

Unless some Senatorial fungus plans a sucker-punch, n'est ce pas?

"Interesting choice of words." The same thought here. What the Hell is with the "I get" part, and just what would that be? Just goes to show you that the Repubs. when they get hard up for a candidate will take just about anyone who volunteers. Remember folks, this party can only keep giving us these false conservatives if we true conservatives allow it to happen by not participating in the selection process.

In 2006 the American public was polling as high as 80% against amnesty. With all that has happened since then I don't think America has softened on amnesty and the border.

ALL states should have laws allowing for a recall of these creeps that think they are smarter than the voters. Too bad that his state is not on the list.

The 18 states allowing for recall are as follows: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Washington and Wisconsin.

That's very interesting; has a successful Senatorial recall ever happened? Or a Congresscritter? ( I'm really not being sarcastic, I'm honestly asking because I don't know.) Only one I can think of is Trafficante, but that was the actual congress kicking him out, I believe.

That may be true among the general public, but we still haven’t found a Republican POTUS candidate that is NOT in favor of some kind of path-to-citizenship amnesty.

Senator Grahamnesty, I have a question for you. You consider yourself a genius lawyer, you been a Member of Congress for a long time, can you tell us exactly, what is wrong with the current immigration laws?

Be specific.

If you believe you can "fix" immigration once and for all, you're a fool.

Actually, I have more questions for you. There is nothing in current Federal Law to prevent the US Government from securing the borders. Why hasn't the Federal Government secured the borders in spite of the expressed desire of the American People to secure the borders going back for decades?

The US Federal Government doesn't enforce current immigration law, why should any American believe that the Federal Government is going to enforce "Comprehensive Immigration Reform"?

The US Congress loves "comprehensive reform". The American People not so much. Why do you believe "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" is the only solution, when the alternative is to fix problems with the current immigration law (if there are any) piecemeal and with specificity?

We just had "Comprehensive Healthcare Reform" and it's a disaster. Why should any American believe that "Comprehensive Immigration Reform" won't be another disaster? Congress doesn't exactly have a great record on this and doesn't exactly inspire confidence with its competence. Why not be more modest and go with fixing parts of the problem?

My question is this........have we found even one Republican candidate for POTUS?

Answer...not yet.

Instead of being so negative, I think you would be much happier with a more positive outlook.

Just sayin’...
