Domestic violence groups reach out to undocumented residents
Salt Lake Tribune ^ | 10/04/2010 | Brooke Adams and Julia Lyon

Posted on 10/04/2010 6:57:17 AM PDT by Technoman

One domestic violence victim refused to give her name to a hot-line worker because the Latina woman feared it would end up on some list and then be used to take away her children.

After leaving an abusive partner, another undocumented immigrant lived in her car rather than go to a shelter, where she worried her status would be an issue. One woman stayed in a bad relationship because she thought a shelter would turn her in to authorities.

And a service provider has reported a 10 percent dropout rate in its Latino domestic violence offender program since July, when an illicitly compiled list of 1,300 purportedly undocumented immigrants receiving state benefits became public.

Even before the list debacle, many undocumented immigrants were reluctant to seek help because of their status — which abusers often hold over them. When they do seek help, they tend to require longer stays in shelters because they don’t have other options, said Lam Nguyen, director of shelter services for the YWCA.

I know another option--there's a nice warm country to the south where they'd fit right in.

They are here illegally and they should be deported.

They should not however be subject to abuses that amount in some cases to false imprisonment and involuntary servitude. The federal government’s tacit complicity in illegal immigration is creating a monstrosity with a whole parallel, underground society which is lawless - both as to the restrictions of law, and the protections of law.

Yet another example of:
1. Parasites feeding off a system for which they put nothing in.
2. Crimmigrants bringing the social pathologies that made their country a failed state with them to the U.S.

(sigh)

Why do we even bother to have laws anymore?

If you’re here illegally, you ARE engaging in an illegal act! Which makes you a criminal! NOT “undocumented”!

Therefore, you are NOT entitled to the benefits offered to citizens and legal visitors.

Give me a break.

I really believe that if journalists from today's mainstream media began referring them as "illegal aliens" rather than "undocumented", they'd be fired and blackballed. Recent polls indicate more distrust from the public, as they're digging their own graves in a sea of political correctness.

911 Tape Released in Mexican Pirate Attack on U.S. Couple

Published October 03, 2010 | FoxNews.com

FOX NEWS.COM

A Colorado tourist was shot in the head and thrown from his jet ski as his wife frantically tried to dodge bullets and escape from Mexican pirates marauding on a U.S.-Mexico border lake, according to a transcript from a 911 call released Saturday.

Search teams over the weekend combed the U.S. side of Falcon Lake for David Michael Hartley, 30, whose wife told police he was shot in the the head Thursday after being ambushed by gunmen on boats.

The gunmen are suspected pirates who have turned Falcon Lake, a water-skiing and bass fishing hotspot down the border from Laredo, into uneasy waters for fishermen and boaters. There have been at least five reported run-ins with pirates on the lake this year, though prior holdups had never been deadly.

In a 911 call made to deputies on Thursday, Tiffany Hartley, 29, describes how her husband was thrown off his Jet Ski after he was shot in the back of the head. Hartley told authorities that she was forced to leave her husband in the water as pirates in three boats fired shots at her.

Actually, it would benefit these women to be deported. The government pays for their travel, and they get away from the one abusing them. So what’s the problem?

Same goes for all breaking the law.

Some folks won’t report domestic violence because they don’t want the cops to show up and break up their meth lab.

“...they’re digging their own graves in a sea of political correctness.”

My only glimmer of hope is that normal, rational people will finally see the rampant fascism that hides behind the the fluffy bunny and chocolate chip cookie label of “political correctness.” I’ve never seen a more chilling effect on free speech and personal freedom than the Frankenstein monster that is PC.

True, many “journalists” would be fired by their PC bosses if they used the language accurately.

Isn’t the whole purpose of language to convey concepts precisely, without obfuscation?

As a part time aviation writer, I really try to use words accurately. These euphemisms for criminals and their activities drive me crazy, and I long for the days when we simply called a spade a spade.

Please. Don’t monkey with our language just to soft pedal your bizarre and destructive political agendas.

This will be accomplished with the very ambiguous ‘U’ Visa.

If I had to bet, this will be the mechanism to be sure ‘Nicky’, the Meg Whitman nannygate alien gets to stay.

General Information:

The purpose of the U visa is give victims of certain crimes temporary legal status and work eligibility in the United States for up to 4 years. The U visa is a nonimmigrant visa and only 10,000 U visas may be issued every fiscal year. Family members may also be included on the petition including spouses, children, unmarried sisters and brothers under 18, mothers, fathers, as well as stepparents and adoptive parents. An approved U visa petition will automatically grant the applicant work eligibility in the United States. An Employment Authorization Document will be included with all approved petitions, which can be shown to any employer to obtain a Social Security Number to start work legally. Currently all U visa applications are filed at the Vermont Service Center.

U Visa Application: An application for the U visa is filed with Form I-918, and there are different requirements that must be satisfied before an application can be submitted. The applicant must have suffered substantial physical or mental abuse due to a criminal activity in at least one of the following categories: rape, torture, trafficking, incest, domestic violence, sexual assault, abusive sexual contact, prostitution, sexual exploitation, female genital mutilation, hostage situations, peonage, false imprisonment, involuntary servitude, slave trade, kidnapping, abduction, unlawful criminal restraint, blackmail, extortion, manslaughter, murder, felonious assault, witness tampering, obstruction of justice, perjury or attempt, conspiracy, or solicitation to commit any of the above mentioned crimes.

All petitions must include information on how the victim can assist government officials in learning more about the crime including investigation and/or prosecution of the individual(s) that committed the crime. The victim must also be willing to work with local law enforcement. The crime must have occurred in the United States or in a U.S. territory, or violated U.S. law.

This is standard La Raza propaganda push stories.

They ran this game in L.A. originally in the late 70's, which lead to Special Order 40.

It's only intention is to defeat enforcement. Once the local cops are taken out of the equation, they know there aren't enough federal police to do the job. Prior to 1979, all local cops in California used to report illegals to the BP, and typically held them until handing them over.

But it worked so well there - Los Angeles is literally now controlled by the Mexican government - they keep running the game in the soon-to-be-acquired provinces.

It works. Especially when idiot Fellow Travelers like these two twinkies dutifully write down the fake illegal alien sob stories.

Also, a good article here. These aliens could also use the T visa...

[snip] What’s next for Diaz-Santillan regarding legal matters and ICE?

America’s immigration laws are very complicated and complex. Within those laws are specific provisions and particular visa’s to include a variety of situations an immigrant may face when entering the United States.

In the case of Diaz-Santillan there are two visa classifications entitled “T visa” or trafficking visa and “U visa” or victim of crime visa in play.

The ‘T visa’ is “awarded” to those who claim they have been taken advantage of in this country; abused by an employer, compelled to enter into indentured servitude, have not been properly paid or not paid at all, and those who have been brought to this country to engage in prostitution and other unlawful activities.

“By making the allegations that Ms. Diaz-Santillan is making, it allows her to apply for a ‘T visa’ with United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). If granted, she will be given employment authorization and ‘T visa’ status for four years; allowing her to ‘hang out here in the Good ‘Ole U.S.A’. At the end of three years she can apply for her green card. Once that is obtained, Diaz-Santillan would be on the path to citizenship,” says Sakelarides. “Now all she has to do is allege that she is a victim of ‘trafficking.’”

Click here to see the California laws regarding this trafficking visa information; http://www.californiaagainstslavery.org/modern-day-slavery/

The second visa classification is the “U visa” or victim of crime visa.

“For the ‘U visa’ all an illegal alien has to do is claim that they are a victim of a crime, get a letter from the DA’s Office or the State Attorney General’s Office (in California this happens to be Gubernatorial candidate Jerry Brown). The letter needs to state that the alien is a victim of a crime and their presence is needed to conduct the investigation in order to prosecute the offender,” said Sakelarides. “Coercion of involuntary servitude and theft of services are examples of crimes common in this case.”

The “U visa” is valid for four years, and includes a work authorization at the end of a three year good standing period. As in the case of a “T visa” the illegal alien can parlay this visa into permanent residence status and procure the golden ticket or green card.

“Once this path is chosen the immigrant is well on their way to citizenship,” Sakelarides explains. “All they need to do is press charges against someone. The USCIS has stated, proudly I might add, that they have reached the 10,000 per year cap on ‘U visas’ and still continue to accept new applications because the department faces backlogs with such applications.”

Both the “T and U visas” are routinely granted with little or no verification of the facts and ICE often conducts no interviews of the applicants let alone an investigation to determine if the allegations are made by foreign nationals against U.S.

“We are now in a wait-and-see holding pattern. My guess is that Ms. Whitman will be accused of coercion of involuntary servitude and theft of services. Why? Because it wouldn’t be the first time such an outrageous accusation would be made by a foreign national against a U.S. citizen so they can get their version of the American dream. The problem with that however, is that they create the American nightmare for the unsuspecting U.S. citizen and in this case political candidate,”

Change “husband” to “employer” and you understand why business lobbying groups like the Chamber of Commerce try to undercut anything that would change the status-quo.

We (and I mean conservatives) are not going to get a handle on illegal immigration util we bring out front and center a basic fact: there are powerful business interests on the right that benefit from illegal immigration, and fight any changes tooth and nail.

Until we put the focus on the real cause of illegal immigration—American buisnesses that want cheap labor—nothing is going to change.
