I disagree. Blumenthal did great in exposing the network of a few doctors self-promoting “help” for Lyme disease. This was a scam, properly exposed. There were many victims of this medical scam for profit.

McMahon’s problem is that she never did any one thing to help anyone else. It is sad that she can’t point to any anecdote.

Blumenthal is clearly a big government guy, but he has a record of decency. McMahon lacks this.

CT FReepers: I was out of town all day... how was the Foley vs Malloy debate tonight? Who do you think "won" the debate?

WWE pays hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxes to the State of CT, the town of Stamford, CT and Federal taxes.
She and her husband started a business from nothing and built it to be a huge enterprise in the entertainment industry.
Blumenthal is a wealthy man in his own right by his family and marrying into money who owns the Empire State Building. Blumenthal has never worked outside of government (paid by taxpayers).
He sues every business he can and clearly is part of the problem why CT is not business friendly. In 2007 the U.S. Chamber of Commerce declared Blumenthal #1 the worst Atty. General of any State; in 2009 #1 goes to Jerry Brown, Atty. General, California.

Malloy was on Red Bull throughout the debate. Annoyingly smarter than you are type of answers. Malloy did his suck up to the unions and State employees saying Foley wanted to cut jobs.
Two fought back and forth about who is lying the most, but that was a wash.
Foley was deliberate, concise, distinct and enjoyable to watch. Foley is for the death penalty Malloy against.

Personally I would rather have Foley because Malloy is just so full of himself.

Thank you so much for your take on tonight's gubernatorial debate! Very interesting.

I called my mother on the way home and asked her what she thought about the debate (she saw only about the last 35 minutes). She said "Malloy never stopped talking... he wouldn't shut the heck up!" She also thought Foley did a better job, but didn't fill me in with any details.

saltus: Allow me to correct you. I know Blumenthal. I litigated against him on behalf of pro-lifers and some others. He is a liar. He is a spoiled rich brat. He has not a shred of decency in him. He has conducted himself as a bully in the AG's office and expresses personal offense whenever a mere judge has the temerity to disagree with his leftist efforts in court. He has proven his contempt for due process of law and for the rules of court (the Connecticut Practice Book).

But, hey, I am a right winger. You may be skeptical of the views of right wingers. Get a copy of Daniel Patrick Moynihan's book Maximum Feasible Misunderstanding which outlines the reasons for the failure of the War on Poverty in NYC in the 1960s. One of those reasons was the efforts to radicalize that War on Poverty still further, efforts of a young Richard Blumenthal as a spoiled and all too influential leftist brat in his youth. He was mixed up with Mitchell Ginsberg (East Coast version of Saul Alinsky who had headed the Worker's Circle in New Haven before moving up to Welfare Commissioner of NYC and of CT).

Linda McMahon is not perfect but like just about anyone this side of Charles Manson, she is one heck of a lot closer than Blumenthal. Did I mention that he clerked for deceased Justice Herod Blackmun??? How do you know whether Linda McMahon has ever done anything to help others??? Since Blumenthal enthusiastically supports the slicing, dicing and hamburgerization of innocent infants by the tens of millions, he would have a hard time proving himself as charitable as Ebenezer Scrooge before the ghosts arrived. (Are there no abortion mills, no public dispensing k=of coat hangers??? What do they DO with Dickie's tax money anyhow???)

Since I am acquainted with Jim Noble long since on FR where he enjoys a fine reputation, I'll take his word for it on the Lyme disease group even if Blumenthal's opposition to it had never occurred.

If he makes that announcement, he should be asked whether he expects to be able to serve a full term or whether the voters will be electing him so that a new governor can name his successor.

He IS a complete moron and apparently has gotten to such a state of confusion that he reminds people of the recent performance of Miss South Carolina (who is, of course, much prettier though only slightly more knowledgeable).

Contrast this debate with Feingold, who is a smoothy....but what comes out of his mouth is pure BS, but the average dumb @ss wisconsin democrat will think the guy is making sense.
