Dick Blumenthal tries to fight off his shakes during his debate with Linda McMahon. (VIDEO)

Blumenthal hasn’t had to run a real campaign for the last 20 years. He just phoned in his AG campaigns because he never had any real opposition. He got lazy. Now, he’s challenged and has to sweat a little. He isn’t used to it and shakes like a novice instead of the old political pro he really is. I hope Connecticut voters noticed. Thanks for posting this.
There’s plenty to pick on Blumenthal about without resorting to things like this. For all we know, it could be a medical condition.
He looks like he has a familial tremor. We have it in our family. My Grandmother, my dad, and one of my sister have it. I have had a few of the symptoms, too, especially when I’m tired. I don’t think he was fearful. He voice wasn’t trembling.
What a creepy guy. I can only imagine the more that is seen of him the better off Linda will be.
Looks like nerves to me.
You’re right, it’s not fair. The poor guy probably just trembles from flashbacks to all of his awful experiences fight the VC in the jungles of Vietnam.
I don’t give a damn about his feelings getting hurt. I’m concerned about making him sympathetic. What if we all make fun of it and tomorrow he makes an announcement that he has Parkinsons?
Blumenthal is a complete moron. His performance in the debate was an embarrassment. There is far more interesting material from the debate than some shaky hands.
I might also add that folks who can appear on television without being nervous are few and far between.
I agree with you. This looks like essential tremor. In fact, while I have virtually no respect for him in general, I have to respect anyone with this condition who puts himself under the microscope despite knowing how bad they may end up looking.
The only oddity is that essential tremor is generally easy to treat. Propanolol, or beta blockers, are quite effective. I wonder if he has some kind of heart condition that doesn’t allow him to use those.
Interesting. No doctor that any of my family members see have ever suggested taking anything for it.
He’s a dim... I refuse to respect him in any way. I will keep the rest of my thoughts about him to myself (in this thread).
LLS
He’s on something.
This is no good. Why go there??? This will only create sympathy for the lefty.
Give the dude a break. He’s human. I”d be shaking too.
that being said, I hope he goes down in flames.
he’s shaking because he is lying...
He filed a criminal complaint because the Infectious Diseases Society of America issued a guideline for diagnosis and treatment of Lyme Disease.
Now, I understand that there are people who disagree with the conclusions IDSA has reached.
But to convert a guideline which represents the consensus of the vast majority of experts in the field into a crime?
That's a novel approach to the role of an AG.
A lot of doctors don’t know, to be perfectly honest. I have a number of doctors in my family, and also have several relatives who have essential tremor.
I would suggest you have them look into it. It is a blood pressure medication, so people with low blood pressure (IIRC, it might be high blood pressure) cannot take it. But it has no mind-altering effects whatsoever, and can be taken every day. A lot of musicians use it, as do stage actors.
