Al Gore talks sustainable capitalism, investment
Columbia Spectator (Student Paper) ^ | October 6, 2010 | By Finn Vigeland and Shane Ferro

The Al Gore that spoke at Columbia on Tuesday was probably not the man most students expected to see.

Gore spoke about the importance of sustainable investments, which consider what will be most beneficial in the long term.

“The alleged conflict between taking sustainability into account and getting higher returns is a myth,” Gore said.

Part of sustainable capitalism, according to the theory, is recognizing the unseen cost of things like pollution for the future. “As more people connect the dots, the assumption of the free use of the atmospheric commons as an open sewer is going to collapse,” he said.

Sustainable capitalism, he argued, “unleashes a higher fraction of the human potential.”

If these 'tards at Columbia had any sense at all they would have heckled this fat hypocrite right off canvas. In a sane and just society Gore would be on a street corner somewhere with a sandwich board reading The End Is Near and with the same credibility one would give such a crackpot.

“Sustainable Capitalism”?

So that’s what they’re calling environmentalist socialism these days?

“As more people connect the dots, the assumption of the free use of the atmospheric commons as an open sewer is going to collapse,”

How many times did rehearse that sentence in front of his bathroom mirror?

The Goreon family is, without a doubt, the great state of Tennessee’s greatest embarrassment.
God, please have mercy on us.

The worst polluters ever on the planet were the former Soviet-bloc states.

He would have been President, had it not been for the fact that his "home" state didn't even vote for him.

Yes, that is the only bone of satisfaction that we got,
besides his loosing out as POTUS.
It made me very happy.

One of the mystifying things about today’s environment is how a real university could let a senator who struggled to get Ds in college actually lecture their students about anything.

This says a great deal more about the college than it does about the dumb senator.

Hmmm, dumb senator - is the adjective really needed?

“Sustainable” or “sustainable capitalism” is one of those leftist words and phrases that gets foghorned along with many other liberal ones on the Joe Soucheray radio show out of St. Paul. When you hear that word or phrase uttered in the context of saving the planet, you know it’s coming from a dyed-in-the-wool leftist nut. It means you should live in 6x6 hut and walk or bike to wherever you’re going while I live in my thirty thousand square foot mansion with my fleet of cars and planes.
