Shame on Wendy Murphy - as usual, she is full of b.s. The Mexican terrorists wanted David Hartleys jet ski. It was a very expensive and high powered jet ski and that was the motive for killing him. David had a kill switch on his life jacket. It is likely that his life jacket was removed in order for them to steal the jet ski - which is why his body hasnt been found afloat. The criminals must have decided to go after Tiffany after all for her jet ski or just the mere pleasure of killing another American. She was very fortunate to get away. A kill switch on his life jacket? Please provide a link.

I believe Ms. Hartley absent further information. Does someone fly off the front of a jetski when they lose consciousness? I would think that usually happens when the jetski hits something and stops suddenly. A big problem with her behavior: she talks of her husband in the past tense, even had a quick memorial for him. How does she know he's dead with absolute certainty since she didn't stick around? Texas has the death penalty and her best bet right now may be to run for the border. Mexico loves blondes, another reason her story of getting away unscathed is very suspicious. The police should gather all her cell phone call and tracking history. A boyfriend on the side may be involved.

The pirates are believed to be members of a drug trafficking organization or members of an enforcer group linked to a heavily-armed drug trafficking organization that utilizes AK-47s or AR-15 rifles. DPS officials say the men appear to be using local Mexican fisherman to operate the boats to get as close as possible to American fishermen.http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/10/04/warnings-texas-falcon-lake-place-officials-say/

It was reported that he had a key on his life jacket and that when he fell off the jet ski, a safety mechanism automatically shut it off. The theory is that the thugs removed his life jacket to get the key.

I read the account of this in a book by Joaquin Jackson, an ex-Texas Ranger. I think these are the same stories. My problem in the book was Jacksons almost excuse making for the two punks who opened fire on the couple.

Mexican ‘Pirates’?
Mario Mendoza, Francisco Cordova and Enrique Romo come to mind (Roberto Clemente was Puerto Rican)

This woman is innocent until proved guilty... amazing so many on this thread give the zeta drug gang a break but this woman is seen as guilty with absolutely no evidence. I saw her on abc this morning... she looks like a wife who witnessed her husband being murdered. I readily admit that I do not know what happened. I do know that many mexicans are murderous bastards that hate Americans.

I don't know about a link but I'm sure if you google it you will find it. I can tell you that there must be some sore of safety device that would shut it down otherwise it would continue to run after the “pilot” falls off.....make sense?

"But the simple truth is, when a wife or husband dies or goes missing in suspicious circumstances, the spouse SHOULD be the key suspect because they're almost always responsible. Unless and until they can be ruled out -- they should be ruled in -- and Tiffany Hartley has yet to be ruled out."Jeez. What ever happened to "innocent until proven guilty?
I'm not saying this gal is innocent. But the facts are that a.) This lake is a huge lake, b.) Killing for a jet ski...and killing an American seem like plausible motives for cartel members to commit something like this. And c.) The guy was from Colorado and may not have fully known the danger of this lake.

Did I write this? We must have been separated at birth.
Maybe she is telling the truth, It is possible.
It sure appears to me to be 1.an insurance scam or 2.a planned murder by a third person (boyfriend, hit man).
The 911 call sounds fake to me.
They took the life vest off a dead guy? For what?
They would bother to dispose of a dead body? Why would they care? Afraid of the Mexican police? lol
Give it a few days. The body will float or the American police will break her story down.

I don’t even jetski, but I know this is correct.
They added a feature so that if someone falls off a jetski, the jetski turns off. The reason? There had been several incidents where someone fell off, the jetski continued running and ran over the someone in the water.
I think this is pretty much required.

I said this on another thread. It’s a crime Perry is the one shaking a stick at the Mexicans. If we had a REAL president our federal government would intervene and demand some cooperation and answers from the Mexicans. Perry knows Texas is on their own with this because Obama isn’t going to interrupt his latest fundraiser, golf game, vacation, etc. and get involved. The problem is Perry has no authority to do anything but talk.

A kill switch on his life jacket? Please provide a link. This is neither to confirm or dispute the location of the kill-switch tether (or even the existence of one) for this person, but most kill switches on a jet-ski are tether-operated. The tether is either attached to the wrist of the jet-skier, or to the clothing (most likely the life jacket). Sample here.

I don’t have a ‘link’. I saw David’s mother and Tiffany interviewed on Fox News and his mother is the one who said his kill switch was attached to his life jacket - which makes perfect sense if he were to fall off. She’s the one who knew all about his jet ski too.
