Krystal Ball, a Democratic candidate for Congress in Virginia, says she is both "embarrassed" and "angry" that a Republican blogger posted sexually explicit pictures of her on the Internet. Warning: Definitely NSFW.
The images - which were originally uploaded to a blog known as "Virginia Vertucon" - were later posted to a number of other sites, including Black Velvet Bruce Li and Gawker.
"It's sexist and it's wrong, regardless of political party,” Ball said in an official statement quoted by Politico.
"I'm angry that when we are suffering from high unemployment, record budget deficits and a broken education system, that crass political operatives will resort to the politics of personal destruction when they can't talk about the issues."

Yeah I think she did it herself, for attention. She’s running for a safe GOP seat. No one had ever heard of her until now. Now she gets a little attention and free media.

In all seriousness, the story she tells is that her dad did his Ph.D. on crystals and convinced her mother to name her Krystal.
And, the originial website was “Virginia Virtucon” not “Vertucon.”
