Obama's new national security advisor called a 'disaster' by Gates

With the departure of General Jones from the White House, America is losing fine public servant and excellent military man. One of the few in Washington who eschewed the limelight, Jones did his job fairly competently and with a minimum of self promotion.

Will we get that lucky with his replacement?

The man picked to be President Obama's next national security advisor was sharply criticized by top officials in the administration, with the Secretary of Defense saying he would be a "disaster" in the job. According to the new book about the Obama administration's handling of Iraq and Afghanistan by Bob Woodward, Pentagon chief Robert Gates expressed deep reservations about Deputy National Security Advisor Tom Donilon, who has been tapped to be the successor to Gen. James Jones.

In the book "Obama's Wars," Woodward writes that, "Gates felt that Donilon did not understand the military or treat its senior leadership with sufficient respect."

"The secretary later told Jones that Donilon would be a ‘disaster' as Obama's national security adviser," Woodward wrote.

A big thank you to your sons for their service to our country.

What do the initials OBL stand for? I call obozo many names, but I can't place these initials.

I just call him jackass.

I know it is narrow minded on my part but there is something about a man that prefers a cat over a dog that gives me pause.

We need to round up these people and place them in places where they cannot hurt themselves.

You don't have to. They sequester themselves on college campuses, public schools, and bureaucratic offices. They're not hard to find because they're in charge.

My DH likes cats more than dogs and he is very, very masculine. He used to be a technical mountain climber, was a heavy equipment operator in a foundry, painted factory smokestacks, practiced Kyokushinkai karate and kung fu for years (needs to get back in training a bit), loves all kinds of weaponry and practices them, has a knife fixing/making hobby, has been a contractor all his life....

And likes cats, and doesn’t like dogs much.

:-)

I have wanted to know what the soldiers feel about obama. Would they defend us against obama, should he call a phony “crisis” and call out the military against the citizens of this country?

There is an organization by the name of Oath Keepers. “Oath Keepers is a non-partisan association of currently serving military, reserves, National Guard, Veterans, Peace Officers, Fire Fighters who will fulfill the oath we swore, with the support of like minded citizens who took an oath to stand with us, to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic, so help us God.”

“Our oath is to the Constitution, not to the politicians, and not to any political party. In the long-standing tradition of the U.S. military, we are apolitical. We don't care if unlawful orders come from a Democrat or Republican, or if the violation is bi-partisan. We will not obey unconstitutional (and thus unlawful) and immoral orders, such as orders to disarm the American people or to place them under martial law. We won't “just follow orders.”

That's what Oath Keepers stands for, and it's also open to those without the backgrounds listed..just ordinary citizens...moms, dads and grandparents of those who serve.

I am a dog person so I am biased, I have 4. I don’t hate cats and actually I really like other people’s cats. The whole litter box thing, it makes me want to heave. That and being on top of the countertops and tables just is not for me. I guess I also like predictability, you can get a cat that loves you or can’t be bothered with you....a dog, they love ya no matter what :)

Our cats are mostly outside cats - no litterboxes!!!!! And we don’t allow them to do things like get on counters etc. They come in by the woodstove when it’s cold, other than that they pretty much they like being outside. We live on acreage which is mostly covered with trees, so they find things to do.

DH likes dogs - likes the neighbor’s dog, but they’re labor intensive, have to be trained, need much more attention than cats. Maybe that’s why he prefers cats.

When I was a teenager I worked at a no-kill animal shelter and I took home the cutest little kitten, she was a tortie. She lived until she was like 15, she was small and the calmest cat I have ever seen. She used to let the little kids in our neighborhood wheel her around in the baby strollers. My grandmother ended up moving in with us in a separate inlaw suite, she would wait for her to get off work and hang with her for a while and then come up to our house.

If I could get a cat like her I would get another in a minute.:)

First, I’d rather let the 29% hurt themselves - mortally - rather than protect them. Second, they are made up of far-left whites, far-left Hispanics, more than half of Jews, and about 91% of blacks.

“How could the Obamareich be any more of a disaster than it is already?”

Prepare for the day that 0 gathers all of his family, staff and ‘good’ dems in congress for a “family” outing to an undisclosed location.

Do the soldiers know what obozo is doing to the military absentee ballots? See the link, “Exclusive: New York violating the MOVE Act,” freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2604976/posts, posted today, that states “more than one week after its extended deadline, New York still hasn't mailed out absentee ballots to all its 320,000 military men and women and overseas voters, in clear violation of the MOVE Act, FoxNews.com has learned.”

This inflames me.

What bothers me is that Secretary of Defense, R. Gates is going to be going next year. I’m afraid to guess just who is going to take his place!
