What Jackie story? I took the comment to mean they ran a soft story about Jackie, John-John and Caroline. Is there another one I'm missing?
Nope, just some young’n acting like she has some inside dope from years ago. Pay no attention. It never ends with these kids....acting out like they were involved at some point in a historical moment. The little youtube, ‘look at me I’m somebody’, look, look, look gotta be seen kiddies. “Innies/Outies”??? Good God, how stupid can you get? And for the poster to think this kinda crap is believed as fact by FReepers? Good God. She is just a child, pay no more mind.
***....alleging Mary Jo Kopechne was pregnant with his child when she died.***
I remember hearing of that rumor just after the accident.
America's major media studiously ignored the incident, and many others, in order to preserve the luster of the Kennedy name, and to aid him in his role as the liberal "lion of the Senate."
Now, the son the then-owner of the National Enquirer has provided information which, if true, adds a new dimension to understanding of Kennedy and the media which abetted him. The New York Post writes:Teddy Kennedy quashed a National Enquirer story alleging Mary Jo Kopechne was pregnant with his child when she died by giving the weekly a fawning article about Jackie Kennedy Onassis and her kids, a new book claims.
In Paul Pope's "The Deeds of My Fathers," he claims his father, Generoso (Gene) Pope, who turned the Enquirer into the best-selling tabloid in America, spiked a story that reported Kopechne, the pretty young campaign worker, was pregnant in 1969 when she drowned in the Chappaquiddick River in Kennedy's car.
Pope writes that his father sent a reporter to DC in 1980 to buy the story from Washington Post gossip columnist Maxine Cheshire and a Women's Wear Daily reporter.
I think the autopsy stated she had water in her lungs.I could be wrong on that but it sure doesnt change the fact that kennedy was a scumbag of the highest order.
Always heard that John left the campaign temporarily because Lyndon hit on Nellie.
You figure he was plastered and just drove off the bridge (my mom’s cousin vacations there, he told me how narrow the bridge is) but could it have been calculated murder? Yes. A shame it was never investigated.
Maybe Teddy wasn't the murderer and the plan was more clever than you think?
One thing is for sure. Kennedy wasn't in the car in the water. Another thing that's for sure is that he was the only one who had the power to get the body off of Martha's Vineyard and out of Massachusetts without an autopsy.
