MSNBC's Todd, Guthrie Urge Democrat Meek to Quit Florida Senate Race
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Well, they did stop short of presenting him with a ceremonial seppuku sword . . .

But other than that, MSNBC's Daily Rundown duo of Chuck Todd and Savannah Guthrie did their best to convince Florida Dem Kendreck Meek to get out of the senatorial race to give Charlie Crist a shot against Marco Rubio.

Todd tried the cold-hard-numbers route, while Guthrie made an emotional appeal, literally asking Meek if he "can live" with himself if his continued candidacy resulted in the election of Rubio.

Meek won’t quit even if it’s a “lost cause”. Failure is a resume enhancement in the lib dem universe................

This is bizarre. If Meek dropped out, not only would Rubio beat Crist, but the resulting backlash / dropoff in black turnout would only magnify the Republican wave across the state.

Why don’t they ask Crist to get out? [Rhetorical question]

These people are crazy. They don’t know how badly Crist is hated. If Meek bowed out, the blacks would stay home. Some democrats (hispanics especially) would definitely drop party loyalty, cross over and vote for Rubio.

This has not be attempted because there is probably plenty of stuff left to come out about Crist and the democratic party knows it.

The media is so desperate, they are ready to do any old stupid thing.

Big liberal news asks Black Democrat to fall on his sword for “independent” Charlie Crist. Gotta love how liberals will toss African-Americans aside for a cheap win in politics.

Interesting.
I see Crist as the Soros pick to run for POTUS in 012 as an independent facilitating a Clintonial plurality win for Baraq.
Of course none of this works if he loses next month.

Just asking, but what is Crist and MSNBCs core campaign promise? Recending the tanning bed tax? Curious minds and all. Didn’t know Crist represented anything special other than Crist. I guess this is good enough for MSNBC, wouldn’t want a government working within the confines of the Constitution, would we?

If they are willing to risk the wrath of the black electorate and the CBC, to push Meek out of the race, it can only mean that they feel that the GOP is really, reaaly close to gettign the 10 seats they need to take the senate..IOW, FL is one they hope to steal back..

TRANSLATION: Meek dropping out will help the left’s guy Crist. Not very complicated, is it.

Did you see Crist throw out the pitch in Tampa Bay? It was the saddest, most pitiful and well, ahem, not-masculine thing I’ve ever seen. I’ve got a bum shoulder, never played baseball on a team, and know I could lob it close enough for a professional catcher to get and fast enough not to look like a girl.

Marco Rubio has almost as much support as Crist and Meeks combined. I don’t think there’s a chance.

TWo white people telling the black guy to get out of the race so the old white flip-flop candidate can win.

I’m sure that will go over well with the minority population of Florida.
