It seems like a phony issue for the a struggling Obama administration to be promoting the allegations that the U.S. Chamber of Commerce may or may not be using foreign contributions to fuel political ads against Democrats. However, President Barack Obama would be best advised to make sure his party wasnt doing something similar before using the bully pulpit to push this meme.
On CNBCs Oct. 11 broadcast of Power Lunch, CNBC Washington correspondent Eamon Javers laid out the latest ramped up attacks on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce from the president.

obama- disclosure for thee but not for me...
Obama Says Donor Records pretty hard to process
Charlie Gibson of ABC just interviewed Obama and asked him why he wont disclose his donor list. Obama proceeds to dissemble by claiming that the donor list would be too difficult to process and that the campaign is technically following the letter of the law, never mind the spirit of it:
GIBSON: Youre going to have a half an hour broadcast tonight on a number of the networks. And the expense is not inconsiderable to buy that much time.
GIBSON: Arent you able to buy it only because you broke a promise on campaign financing?
OBAMA: Well, look, there is no doubt that the amount of money that weve raised in this campaign has been extraordinary and surprised me as much as anybody maybe more than anybody. What I would simply point to is that the way we have raised this money has been by expanding the pool of small donors in this country in an unprecedented way.
GIBSON: But you havent released their names.
OBAMA: Weve got
GIBSON: We dont know who they are.
OBAMA: Well, look, the a whole bunch of them were out here today. I mean, youre looking the people who are giving 5, 10, $25. Ordinary folks who have gotten impassioned about this campaign in a way that is unprecedented. And that, really, is
GIBSON: Shouldnt we know the names of that list?
OBAMA: Look, you know, 3.1 million donors would be a pretty hard thing for us to be able to process. And we have done everything thats been asked of us under the FEC guidelines. These are small donors. Theyre ordinary folks. And the idea behind all campaign finance reform is to make sure that the public official is not bought and sold; that that public official is accountable to the public, that they are not subject to undue influence by big special interests in Washington and lobbyists
And we dont take lobbyists money. We dont take money from PACs. And theres no industry, theres no group out there that I owe favors to as a consequence of this campaign. In fact, I would argue that probably should I be successful, I may come into the White House with fewer strings attached to me than just about any presidential candidate in history. I wasnt even supported by the establishment in the Democratic Party when I started this race.
So I dont have a lot of a lot of chits out there that are going to be collected.
Raising money from small donors in an unprecedented way? Thats an understatement.
I fail to see how this is worth reporting.
-your friends in the unbiased media
By far, Obama himself had MORE FOREGN MONEY than any other President. It came over the internet. It is not regulated. It was NEVER disclosed WHO donated. Our enemies paid for Obama. Surely, you don’t believe his tin can begging base gace OBAMA MONEY! LOL!!!!!
Notice also that how when a Republican leaves politics, they SCRAMBLE to make a living. Compare that to when a Demoncrapper finally gets voted out or kicked out by Obama. Do you see Demoncrappers scrambling to make a living? NO! They typically go back to ACADEMIA or sit on a few boards.
That is the Alinsky way of blaming your opponent.
What about Obamas receiving contributions from Rafa, Gaza?
How has the FEC investigated these abuses that occured in 2008. I bet it’s been swept under Obummer’s rug. Saul Alinsky 101 accuse the other side of the same things your doing so that it makes them look like they are guilty and you are innocent.
The FEC has compiled a separate database of potentially questionable overseas donations [to the Obama campaign] that contains more than 11,500 contributions totaling $33.8 million. More than 520 listed their state as IR, often an abbreviation for Iran. Another 63 listed it as UK, the United Kingdom.
More than 1,400 of the overseas entries clearly were U.S. diplomats or military personnel, who gave an APO address overseas. Their total contributions came to just $201,680. But others came from places as far afield as Abu Dhabi, Addis Ababa, Beijing, Fallujah, Florence, Italy, and a wide selection of towns and cities in France.
Until recently, the Obama Web site allowed a contributor to select the country where he resided from the entire membership of the United Nations, including such friendly places as North Korea and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Unlike McCains or Sen. Hillary Clintons online donation pages, the Obama site did not ask for proof of citizenship until just recently....
In July and August, the head of the Nigerias stock market held a series of pro-Obama fundraisers in Lagos, Nigerias largest city. The events attracted local Nigerian business owners. At one event, a table for eight at one fundraising dinner went for $16,800. Nigerian press reports claimed sponsors raked in an estimated $900,000. The sponsors said the fundraisers were held to help Nigerians attend the Democratic convention in Denver. But the Nigerian press expressed skepticism of that claim, and the Nigerian public anti-fraud commission is now investigating the matter.
In June, Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi gave a public speech praising Obama, claiming foreign nationals were donating to his campaign. All the people in the Arab and Islamic world and in Africa applauded this man, the Libyan leader said. They welcomed him and prayed for him and for his success, and they may have even been involved in legitimate contribution campaigns to enable him to win the American presidency...
[O]n July 31 that donors from the Gaza strip had contributed $33,000 to the Obama campaign through bulk purchases of T-shirts they had shipped to Gaza.... A pair of Palestinian brothers named Hosam and Monir Edwan contributed more than $31,300 to the Obama campaign in October and November 2007, FEC records show. Their largesse attracted the attention of the FEC almost immediately. In an April 15, 2008, report that examined the Obama campaigns year-end figures for 2007, the FEC asked that some of these contributions be reassigned. The Obama camp complied sluggishly, prompting a more detailed admonishment form the FEC on July 30. The Edwan brothers listed their address as GA, as in Georgia, although they entered Gaza or Rafah Refugee camp as their city of residence on most of the online contribution forms.... The latest Obama campaign filing shows that $891.11 still has not been refunded to the Edwan brothers, despite repeated FEC warnings and campaign claims that all the money was refunded in December.
A ...review of the Obama campaign finance filings found that the FEC had asked for the redesignation or refund of 53,828 donations, totaling just under $30 million.
But none involves the donors who never appear in the Obama campaign reports, which the [Center for Responsive Politics] estimates at nearly half the $426.8 million the Obama campaign has raised to date.
Remember the two requirements/prerequisites for being a leftist—utter hypocrisy and absolute shamelessness.
Of course. Everything the RATS say is PROJECTION.
