Border Patrol Sends Extra Boats to Falcon Lake (Texas)

ZAPATA - A dozen Border Patrol boats, including some from the Valley are now in Zapata. They will be used to patrol and protect Falcon Lake.

The increase comes after the disappearance and presumed murder of David Hartley.

Both the Mexican and American governments are still searching for his body.

People who live along Falcon Lake say the increased security helps. Still, they'd like to see even more.

"I think they can do a lot better and bring more troops so that we can have the homeland security. We need more law enforcement around the border," says Leo Cuellar.

No word on how long the boats will stay in Zapata. A Border Patrol spokesperson declined to comment saying details of their role at Falcon Lake must remain top secret.

How about Governor Perry Calling up the 36th Infantry Division. I happen to know that they are completely contained within the Texas Army National Guard.

What’s screwed up is the fact we even need to consider that possibility.

But, in today’s world, we do.

But, but, so many here believe the wife did it. Why does the BP need to get involved...?

All the stuff broadcast, no body, no ski, no lifejacket...

If I were a cartel member, I'd dump the body after retrieving what I wanted; the jacket and ski. Heck, they're so good at heads, why not arms, legs, whatever...

...the wife’s demeanor, differences in her story etc.

I have no idea how I'd react if something similar happened to my wife. Grief, puzzlement and confusion, and yes some anger as well, can be a potent combination, leading others to read more into my appearance and statements than is there. Just sayin'...

I just miss the old "innocent until proven guilty" meme. So, just because stuff is broadcast for the shock factor, I usually try to sit back and wait...

Sitting back and waiting is almost always the best approach. Especially as initial reports are so frequently wrong.

That’s how I look at it. Let the law sort it out. When they start talking about the family, then my suspicions begin.
