His step dad is the Chairman of WL Gore, of Gore Tex fame.

He invented Gore Tex

I agree...I just would have preferred her to look into the camera. Just an old debate class thing of mine. :)

Sending her more money now. Wish she were here in Kentucky!

Coons - "My faith doesn't interfere with my conscience"

Weird. One's faith tends to be inextricably tied to one's conscience. Apparently, he compartmentalizes.

She kicked his hinny on that one! I’m betting not too many people realized he owned that.

As Erik at Red State has commented, COD is taking one for the team from coast to coast; all the MSM attention on COD has helped to liberate Angle, Buck and others from the MSM crosshairs.

That is how I see it as well... COD has selflessly taken the arrows for the team. Angle, Buck and Rand Paul, to name a few... if they win... owe her a great deal of thanks.

She probably did have it memorized, but when you are under pressure of a national audience, it is far better to get the message out correctly and completely. Both had notes and talking points.

No doubt. Delaware was never on the table. If they are so blinded to still go Coons then succession from this crap isn’t far off.

She was asked to name a recent SCOTUS decision that she Disagreed with...big difference.

So she agrees with all of the recent SCOTUS decisions?

The fact she didn’t have her closing statement memorized disappointed me too. But I felt better when Coons didn’t have his memorized either.

Nice closing statement, but I wish she had it memorized."

She is representative of "the people" with the foundation and principles that many of us share, not a polished elite establishment politician who speaks in 'slick' tones and 'Harvard' style BULLSHT. Isn't that what most of us want??

Coons’ answers are just bizarre and give the impression that he’s not all there.

Conclusion...I’m not hopeful with this one. People who are politically tone deaf (and that’s most independents, plus, unfortunately, a lot of stupid people who VOTE) do not decide based on issues. They decide based on things like how fast a candidate is on the uptake; how the leftist moderators subliminally cue them with innumerable insinuations and slanted questions; and how high the candidate’s voice is.
COD has a really high, little girl voice. It’s sad, but a lot of people decide on nothing more than that.
If she wins (and she could) it will be because of broad, generalized wrath against the Democrats and the 0bama administration. Not her merits, and she has those. :(

No one is watching the debate.

Well hopefully they won't be voting then also. I'll bet more Republicans are watching than Democrats.

Condescending, patronizing and probably in shock that Christine is not the pushover lame brain as the media would like to portray her.

Wolfie and the other moderator broad did seem to be surprised at her competence, and were bound and determined to find something, anything with which they could trip her up. She had a few bumps, but overall, IMO she kicked ass. YMMV

He’s going to be nothing more than a rubber stamp for Obama... just as he promised.

Can you expect anything else from a democrat?

Soooo glad someone else caught that! It was priceless.

Y’all mark my words tonight....THIS will be the sound byte of tomorrow.

And hey, congrats to Wolf Blitzer for bringing it up for proper response.
