Darkest Anti Semitism in Holland
inn ^ | 10/14/10 | Prof. Phyllis Chesler

Posted on 10/14/2010 11:21:34 AM PDT by Nachum

A new book by Abigal R. Esman, who has lived in Holland until now, is an eye opener. Prof. Chesler says it should be required reading at the Israeli Foreign Ministry.

Holland prides itself on its religious tolerance. Indeed, it welcomed Portugese Jews and, although they forbade them to join guilds When Muslims riot in Holland or disagree with anyone, they demonize them as “Zionists.” or own shops, the Jews nevertheless flourished in Holland as publishers, physicians, and diamond dealers.

Holland also prides itself on its presumably heroic role as resistance fighters against the Nazi occupation. Ah—but the truth is something darker, certainly more complicated, not always so heroic.

In my mind, Holland represents tulips, legalized marijuana, women selling sex in windows, multi-cultural tolerance, a huge Islamic problem—and the murder of Anne Frank and of almost the entirety of Dutch Jewry.

Tough piece. I usually agree with Chesler but she doesn’t give any kudos to the brave men and women who protected Anne Frank or Geerts Wilders.

Holland Conference -- returned to find my boss, his wife, and his guests ashen and silent in the lobby of our hotel.

Me: Everything ok?

Boss (takes me aside) whispers: What's going on? Several naked men surrounded our limo. And, many reveling wearing plastic fruit ...

Sidekick: Oh. It's gay pride weekend in Amsterdam.

All activities held indoors until Monday...

“Semite” actually means both Jews and Arabs.

"Jew-hater is not as polite as 'anti-semite'. It is totally bogus that people constantly bring up the definition of semite almost every time Jew-hatred is discussed. Everyone knows exactly who is being spoken of.

I agree, let's just call them Jew-Haters, as they are.

Sorry, this piece is too difficult to read because it needs some serious proofreading. Is this person really a professor?

Anti-Jewish views did not start with Hitler, nor did it start in Denmark. At the risk of being called a Jew Hater, have the Jews contributed to antisemitic feels? This is a question, not an accusation. Countries such as Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Germany are not religious nations. Even Atheists such as Marx despised the Jews. My point is that anti-Jewish views are not based upon religious grounds.

Let me ask you... do you think that a question like that is an apology for evil, or merely covering up the murderous deeds of the nations of the world for almost 2000 years against Jews?

Amoral humanism is not all it’s cracked up to be. Too late...liberals cleansed from a generation western culture already.

I am not defending immorality or criminal actions. My question was an attempt to understand the dynamics involved in why there is such hatred. During the Medieval times, there was persecution of the Jews for religious purposes. With the secularization of Europe, I cannot see religious reasons being the motivating factor. It is difficult for me to believe that there is a coherent conspiracy of nations that decided to pick out randomly a group of people to hate. If a group knows the cause of the hatred, it could finds ways of combating the cause. If the victim believes that he is totally innocent and that the persecution is irrational, there is little, if anything, that can be done to remedy the situation.

I disagree. You are looking for a way to get Jews to 'admit' that they somehow deserve to be brutalized. It is easy to reach this conclusion with your own words...

If the victim believes that he is totally innocent and that the persecution is irrational, there is little, if anything, that can be done to remedy the situation.

You have answered your own question with this assumption. The your conclusion applies more to the questioner than to the questioned. So, in essence, you are defending criminal actions.

When it comes to Islam they are, and many on the left will believe anything that Muslims say about the Israel-Palestine conflict.

005.051
YUSUFALI: O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.

009.029
YUSUFALI: Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Book 041, Number 6985:

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.

If you choose to take the position that any question about the Jews is an attempt to justify evil, all discussion becomes futile. When people can no longer discuss issues, only horrible things will follow.
