Robert Schulz of Fort Ann, advocate for the Constitution and leader of the We the People Foundation, says a recent Time magazine cover story mischaracterizes him and his organization and mistakenly links him to militias.
The story, "Locked and Loaded, The Secret World of Extreme Militias," ran as the cover story for the magazine's Oct. 11 edition.
The story, written by Barton Gellman, names Schulz as one of the philosophers of the antigovernment movement who "are edging their followers closer to violence."
The story calls Schulz "an influential voice among militia groups" and says he "has reached the brink of calling for war."
Schulz, who advocates nonviolent protest, calls the story "clearly false."
"I don't know any militia organizations. I don't communicate with any that I know of," he said.
Last year, Schulz said, he spoke to groups in 88 cities in all 50 states and not one was a militia.
"They've never called me, never asked me to speak," he said.
The We the People Foundation's e-mail list includes more than 80,000 addresses, he said, and he doesn't know every person on the list. But the characterization of him as a grassroots leader on the verge of advocating violent rebellion is wrong, he said.
The article mentions vigils that Schulz staged in Washington, D.C., in which he and some of his followers dressed in the costume of the character "V" from the movie "V for Vendetta," mentioning that, in the final scene, the British Parliament building erupts in flames.

Did they interview him for the article? I didn’t read the whole article, just the part posted here, but they can certainly write an article about him without interviewing him.
Oops, excuse me.. Newsweak sold for $1.00, so Time only needs to sell for .99c to set a new record.

I think you meant to say the price would go there. I can't imagine why declining distribution would make the value go UP, even to 1/25 of a cent! ;-) Besides, if they set the PRICE there, how would people buy the magazine? Is it ploy to get circulation back up -- you have to buy 25 copies at a time? Two year subscription for a penny?
So you read a quote in the paper from a guy with a name spelled differently from yours, quoted as saying something you never said.....Hmmm, do you get these feelings often that people are talking about you? ;-)

I actually agreed to an interview once, just a few years back. Fortunately, the “journalsts” from a TV station in Boston had a very small window for the interview, and I was going to be out of town on business those days.
Good thing too!
With selective editing, they eviscerated the Catholic priest in whose favor I was going to give a corroborating interview. He called me the day after the TV station aired the “interview”. He was practically in tears for the way they made him appear to say things he does not believe.
These people are despicable in every respect. I can’t think of a creature with less integrity than a MSM “journalist”.
Deniability is nice, but those who know me knew who was misquoted, and mentioned it to me, including the reporter misspelling my name (phonetically, it was passable).
I understood, I was just kidding you. The combination of a person with a different name quoted as saying something you didn’t say was too tempting to pass up!
Invariably, when I see an article on a subject about which I have personal knowledge, I find the reporting to be grossly in error...
What does it matter if a foreign enemy of the United states can be suckered into dropping billions into a domestic retard maintenance industry..?.
It ain't like the chicoms or Saudi inbreds can buy Fox or CNN and take them home. They can however be fooled into dropping a trillion here, then be told to go home.
It is also unrealistic to expect that reasonable people are manipulated by media bias; If such bias were effective we would all have become communists by the 70’s. In fact, the contrary has become the reality. The only thing more discouraging than a retarded communist who does not understand communism is a newbirth whantabe communist killer that understands neither communism or this republic. I am referring this point in the general, not the specific.
