Rasmussen : Florida Gov : Scott opens 6% lead on Sink.
Rasmussen Reports ^ | Rasmussen

Republican Rick Scott now leads Democrat Alex Sink by six points in the race to be Florida’s next governor. It’s the widest gap between the candidates in six months of polling.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Florida shows Scott with 50% support for the second survey in a row. Sink, the state’s elected chief financial officer, earns 44% of the vote. Six percent (6%) prefer some other candidate in the race. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

This moves the race from a Toss-Up to Leans Republican in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Gubernatorial Scorecard.

Less than two weeks ago, Scott, a wealthy businessman and former health care executive, held a 50% to 47% lead. This race has been close for weeks since Scott’s upset win over Bill McCollum in the state GOP Primary in August. In six surveys since then, Scott has picked up 41% to 50% support, while Sink has captured 36% to 47%. The candidates were in a near tie at the beginning of September.

Scott and Sink are scheduled to hold their second debate tonight.

This is good news.

This is great news!

If they can take the governorships in FL, OH, PA, MI, WI, and IL -- Obama can kiss 2012 goodbye.

And they lead by 6 or more in every race.

Would be sweet to see Crist replaced with a tougher real republican and then watch him lose the senate seat at the same time.

I’m gonna enjoy that moment.

Scott just started running TV ads in our area. I noticed that during the primary his ads were very effective, and this latest crop are effective too. It’s not that they haven’t been running negative Sink ads, but the ads where he talks to the “public” directly have just started. I said all along that I thought he was a good communicator and once his ads start, they will “pay off.”

Don’t be, its Dem messing around in those, Murkowski aint going to get enough write in, its one thing to say a poll but another to write it out when the name aint on the ballot.

Toomey is up about 10 in PA, dont believe those PPP crap.

As for Kentucky, Rand will win, i think this rubbish Conway has been pushing is going to backfire spectacularly.

Scott’s ads tell lies about Sink. No she isn’t responsible for the loses in retirement funds. They are overseen by two Repubicans besides Sink.

I still think it’s very close. But the poll certainly is heartening.

So she's 1/3 responsible. The other members, "Republican" Charlie Crist and Bill McCollum, are 2/3 responsible.

I agree, I saw one of those ads last night and thought it was good. I don’t watch local channels much, and those sink attack ads hurt my stomach. I am so glad to see this lead after a couple of polls showing sink ahead. I love the “let’s get to work”.

Don’t worry about those outlier polls. I don’t trust much but Rasmussen at this point.
