What happens when environmental fashion collides with a state's desperate need for jobs and economic growth? That question will be put to the test when Californians vote November 2 on a ballot measure that would suspend the Golden State's cap-and-trade law until its unemployment rate falls below 5.5%. Today the rate is 12.4%.
Proposition 23 is the number one national target of the green movement this election year. With the failure of cap and tax in Congress, the greens are trying to hold onto this remnant of their anticarbon crusade. Both sides are spending heavily, and the polls show a ...

Should government subsidize renewable energy sources such as wind, solar and ethanol?

Enviro-fascists are killing America. Somehow they have been duped into thinking there is some replacement for petroleum products....while the pols they support with money and votes keep killing the building of nuke electric plants and refineries.
Such fools. No foresight. No care. No sense. And no energy strategy for America except suffer at the hand of our enemies for energy.....
“That question will be put to the test when Californians vote November 2...”
When they vote?? How many things have the Cali people voted for and won hands down only to be overturned by some activist judge? Or the state gov’t simply ignores the will of the people?
Even if it is suspended, chances are it won’t be.
If they fail this they might as well cut to the chase and ACH their take home pay directly to Sacramento.

What a waste of money and brainpower!
Yes, it would be very nice to develop new sources of energy, if its practical. You cant just stop driving cars and shut everything down and pretend like solar is going to power everything in Northern Michigan.
The main thing that I hate seeing money time and brainpower wasted on is the fictitious man-made global warming scam.
How many times do the insiders have to confess?
How many scientific facts have to be ignored?
How many times does Toto have to pull back the curtain to reveal that the Wizard of Awg is merely a blowhard who sells snake oil in the form of misinformation speeches and thinks its several million degrees 2KM beneath the Earths surface?
Funny you should mention:
Governor Awhnold has announced plans to create nickel cleaning jobs for 400,000 Californians at $27,000 per year plus benefits. This will happen precisely when the clock strikes 12:00 noon on the day Kalifornia has 5% unemployment!

And we have this:
Solar company Energy Conversion Devices(ENER_) announced on Aug. 11 that it plans to cut 140 jobs at its Auburn Hills, Mich., facility, shifting some of these jobs to Tiajuana.
Last year the company, which makes building-integrated photovoltaics, or BIPVs, which are designed to be built into buildings in the form of shingles or windows, already eliminated 25% of its workforce last year due to dwindling demand. But many of these laid off employees have since been rehired.
Energy Conversion has been in the red over the past year.
Wonder what kind of subsidies they are getting and will continue to get?
Thanks Ernest.
