NPR Ends Analyst’s Contract After Comments on Muslims (Juan Williams)
New York Times ^ | October 20, 2010

Posted on 10/20/2010 8:45:07 PM PDT by La Lydia

NPR has terminated its contract with Juan Williams, one of its senior news analysts, after he made comments about Muslims on the Fox News Channel. NPR said in a statement that it gave Mr. Williams notice of his termination on Wednesday night. The move came after Mr. Williams, who is also a Fox News political analyst, appeared on the “The O’Reilly Factor” on Monday. On the show, the host, Bill O’Reilly, asked him to respond to the notion that the United States was facing a “Muslim dilemma.” Mr. O’Reilly said, “The cold truth is that in the world today jihad, aided and abetted by some Muslim nations, is the biggest threat on the planet.”

Mr. Williams said he concurred with Mr. O’Reilly.

He continued: “I mean, look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.”

Mr. Williams also made reference to the Pakistani immigrant who pleaded guilty this month to trying to plant a car bomb in Times Square. “He said the war with Muslims, America’s war is just beginning, first drop of blood. I don’t think there’s any way to get away from these facts,” Mr. Williams said.

NPR said in its statement that the remarks “were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR.”

The public radio organization said it thanked him for many years of service. Mr. Williams did not immediately respond on Wednesday night to an e-mail seeking comment...

One of my major disappointments with the GOP when they took over in ‘94 was that they didn’t defund the left. For so long as our tax dollars support these entities, the country continues to go to he!! in a handbasket.

Firing someone who admits their being nervous when a group dressed in Muslim “garb” gets on a plane is as disgusting and racist, in and of itself, as would be firing a black man who admits he gets nervous when he sees a group dressed in full KKK “garb.”

We were terrorized by Muslim men on 9/11. It damaged the American psyche. AA’s were terrorized by the KKK. It damaged their collective psyche.

What’s the difference? It’s racist to be suspicious of a group with a documented history of terrorizing people?

The GOP congress needs to end NPR funding next session.

They've said that before but never did it. If we EVER get a real conservative congress it MIGHT happen.

I'm not holding my breath though.

Soros also ‘officially’ signed a check to MM for $1 million.

I know - I didn’t mean he “only” gave to NPR. Should have phrased it better.

Natl. Pubic Radio-— that bastion of reasoned and objective news reporting and analysis. Liberal Juan has exposed you for what you are. And the US taxpayer gets to pay for your lavish salaries and so much more through the nose.

Goebells and Trotsky would be proud.

“Black people who work for NPR are limited to only certain pre-approved opinions.”

I think the thought police at NPR enforce thought control across all races. They just have a zero tolerance policy if you are black.

~~~”George Soros, through the Tides Foundation, just gave 1 mil to NPR. Connect the dots.”~~~
It’s worse. 1.8 million.
The grant comes from the Soros founded/funded Open Society Foundation. Ironic name given the “shadowy foreign funds” behind it and the fact that the NYT’s neglects to mention the Soros connection.
They have lots of standards. For example, male speaking
voices have to be very soft and effeminate sounding..
like Garrison Keillor’s.
“The public radio organization said it thanked him for many years of service.”
Well, isn`t that just peachy. Williams wandered off the plantation, therefore he had to go.
NPR teabaggers ( NOT Tea Party members - but the real word - the liberal definition...) and whores at NPR - sorry about using such crass terms - but liberals use those words when talking about us. Anyhow, I assume we can use those words when talking about them - good for the goose etc...
NPR Liberal elites who can't seem to make connections between Radical Muslims and terror have NO PROBLEM making a connection between all Christians and Tim McVeigh - and Williams knows it. He knows the hatred liberals "warn of" when talking of conservatives - is the darkness within their own souls - a darkness they try to project onto us. And Juan stood up to those whores and teabaggers (see above explanation of terms)...
Juan Williams dared to call them on their liberal hatred. And endless liberal forgiveness for all things radical Muslim. Williams called them out - he named them. They hate him now. The teabaggers ( NOT Tea Party members - but the real word - the liberal definition...) and whores at NPR ( sorry about using such crass words - but liberals use those words when talking about us - so I guess we can use those words when talking about them) feel that all Christians can be tared with the Tim McVeigh brush - and Williams would know that better than most.
Juan Williams dared to call them on their endless liberal hate. And endless liberal forgiveness for all things radical Muslim. Williams called them out - he named their hatred. Liberals don't tolerate those who think differently then they do... and they especially don't tolerate those who expose them for what they really are. They'll go after Juan - and he knows it. The toxic haters understand revenge and control... Williams has backbone - I hope that's enough.
Conservatives know how hateful and vindictive liberals are, but their rank and file are easily fooled - and Williams understands that. Those who don't tow liberal party line are fair game . Williams didn't knuckle under - he's got my respect. He'll face their blinding red hot hatred - alone. He has no base except for those of us who respect integrity...
Liberals don't tolerate those who think differently then they do... and they did what damage they could to him... they'll do more if they can. The toxic haters understand revenge and control... My heart goes out to Juan.
I'll say this about Williams - he's got backbone. Most of us who know how hateful and vindictive liberals are - and Williams would know better than most - if you don't tow their party line, they come after you. Williams didn't knuckle under - he's got my respect.
