Murkowski: GOP wants me to win
Politico ^ | October, 22, 2010 | Shira Toeplitz

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski thinks national Republicans are secretly hoping she’ll win her write-in campaign and defeat GOP nominee Joe Miller.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee has made clear it is backing Miller: It has sent staff, money and, as of this week, placed independent expenditure ads in the state on his behalf. But the GOP nominee has had a rough few weeks since he defeated Murkowski in the primary, including an incident on Sunday in which his private bodyguards arrested a reporter after a campaign event.

The day after the scuffle, during which Alaska Dispatch Editor Tony Hopfinger was handcuffed and detained, the Anchorage Press asked Murkowski whether she thinks Republicans “are secretly hoping that you’ll win.”

“Yes. Yes, I do. Definitely,” Murkowski told the alternative weekly newspaper. She said she expects a warm welcome from her “colleagues on both sides of the aisle” if she wins.

“They need my vote,” she said.

This establishment witch needs to go.

Let’s hope people give up on spelling her name and just check the box for the legitimate candidate.

I have absolutely no doubt that better than 90% of the Repubs in the Senate want to see Murkowski return, including His Ladyship McConnell. The last thing they want is to have to deal with some sort of bumpkin who doesn’t know how to play by the Washington insider rules.

Lisa, it’s over. You’ve been dumped. Now go away with some dignity.

Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski thinks national Republicans are secretly hoping she’ll win her write-in campaign and defeat GOP nominee Joe Miller.

If by "national" Republicans she means elitist, ruling class, establishment, entrenched Warshington Republicans then, yeah, no duh.

I wish I had any arguments against her assertion. The Senate Republicans didn’t toss her out and take away her committee seats when she ignored the results of the primary.

If Miller loses, all he has to do is look back to his Greta appearance when he refused to answer whether or not Palin “was qualified to be president.”

Politically stupid to alienate Palin supporters... and Palin herself. Notice she hasn’t done anything for him since.

She said she expects a warm welcome from her “colleagues on both sides of the aisle” if she wins.

“They need my vote,” she said.

And that...says it all.

Votes:

Cap & Trade Yes

Repeal HC NO

Climate control Yes

Immigration/Amnesty Yes

And whatever other communist bill is introduced, Murcowski can be counted on by the other commies to vote the 'correct' way.

I love Palin. I would not have voted for McCain save for Palin.

I see no candidate better than Palin in 2012.

That said, I also would not answer whether is is qualified to be president. We are seeing what happens when an unqualified person is in the White House.

I also agree that it is politically a bad answer. Just an honest one.

Well, the GOP leadership might want you to win, pathetic little Princess Lisa, because you play their games, go to their cocktail parties, lie to those you represent - but CONSERVATIVES are going to defeat you.

Well, I’m afraid she’s right. Of course they do.

When the Republican leadership met after she dropped out of the party and ran as an independent write-in candidate, following her defeat in the Republican primary, they refused to discipline her. They refused to remove her from her committee positions. They refused to do anything.

Now we’re starting to see the obvious consequences of those failures in leadership.

The same thing is true of Olympia Snowe. She used to be a good RINO who voted with the party when her vote was needed. No longer. Why? Because the leadership has been telling her, in actions if not in back-room words, that she can do whatever she likes and not pay any consequeces.

Snowe enabled Pelosi and Reid to pass Obamacare. Her vote was absolutely critical to passing that monstrosity. And she never paid any penalty for doing that.

We’d better hope that Murkowski loses this election. And we’d better be prepared to shovel out the damned, corrupt liars who are currently running the party in DC. Plus the horses they rode in on—all those corrupt political hacks that you see so clearly in Sarah Palin’s account of the McCain campaign.

The GOP needs to get rid of this filthy pig, before she undermines the whole party and its whole voting system.

The Republican Senate represents the most liberal element in the GOP and they want to keep it that way.
