California Republican Rep. Darrell Issa, who will run the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee if Republicans take over the House, is promising that he and his party will not move to impeach President Obama - at least as things now stand.
"Not a chance at this point. I don't see it happening," Issa said in an interview with Bloomberg's "Political Capital" that will air over the weekend and was reported by The Hill.
"Look, disagreeing with the president -- the president using his authority, maybe even misusing it -- that's not what impeachment's for," Issa added. "Do we have disagreements? Yes. Do we want to see that the president strictly adheres to process? Yes."

And Issa is vowing not to investigate alleged White House job offers to clear the field for its preferred Democratic candidates in primaries, an issue he pushed hard in the past. He said the practice also went on under President Bush and while it is not impeachable, it needs to stop.
Another top Republican, Rep. Mike Pence, says his party isn't interested in compromise if it takes the House.
"Look, there will be no compromise on stopping runaway spending, deficits and debt. There will be no compromise on repealing Obamacare. There will be no compromise on stopping Democrats from growing government and raising taxes," he told radio host Hugh Hewitt last night. "And if I haven't been clear enough yet, let me say again: No compromise."

Agreed. Bad idea to impeach him unless he does something that makes his super vulnerable or super dangerous. Need to fight him every day and work for a strong candidate in 2012.
GOP chickened out on the impeachment because they finally realized that installing President Gore in the White House would have made the 2000 election that much harder.
There are hundreds, perhaps thousands, of possibly actionable items done by nobama and his thugs.
I imagine just trying to prioritize them for investigation will be a major task.
The new Congress will need to grow some cojones and get it done.
Had Clinton been convicted, Gore would have assumed the Presidency. Had Gore maintained a semblance of sanity, he would have likely won the election in 2000. Please don’t try to impeach Obama. Run an investigation of Zero’s eligibility if he won’t/can’t produce a legitimate birth certificate and convince him to resign to spend more time with Bo. Trying to impeach him will become a circus.
1.Don’t impeach Barack...not worth the distraction
2.Definitely move to impeach Holder
3.Immediately defund Corp for Public Broadcasting(very popular move)
4.Immediately sponsor legislation putting severe penalties into the MOVE law providing absentee ballots to military...or stop funds to offending states;Mass,Del., NY etc.
Don’t impeach him, just try him for treason.
They need to be smart and make Obama look like the miserable failure that he is, and not a victim of evil, white Republicans. In short, they need to play a smart political game.
I actually think Obama will be more humiliated by an election defeat than impeachment, though I believe Obama is guilty of high treason just for his actions in Arizona and his back door and administrative amnesty for illegals.
Do you know of ONE Republican candidate for Congress who has suggested impeaching Obama?
Instead:
“Talking about impeaching him now will bring democrats running to the polls.”

I’m tired of being scared of what rats might do. We’re at war. Let’s do what we have to do. If we have to mow them down by thousands, let’s do it.
1. if somehow, he is impeached and convicted, that for sure will clear deck for Hillary
2. even if Dims suffer wipe out, it is unclear Zero the Clown would not run. IF over next year he somehow comes to his senses he could run and if Repubs make foolish mistakes, etc. In any event, for Hill to challenge an incumb pres would be a very tall order. The Blacks would not like it one bit and Dems need blacks to win elections.

I agree with Issa too. Impeachement was and is a stupid distraction. Starve the beast.
Agree. Boehner has had plenty of time to demonstrate his leadership skills. He has been a disaster.
They try to make it sound like Issa and Pence are in disagreement: they were talking about two different things. Issa was talking about the possibility of impeachment proceedings against Obama; Pence, about policy.
Pence would make a great Speaker of the House. Boehner had his chance. He’s a dull, uninspiring, career politician. Yes, he votes conservative but he is not the leader the House needs.
