LOS ANGELES (AFP) – US President Barack Obama on Friday branded Republicans as radical and reactionary, in campaign appearances for high-profile Democratic senators under threat in November's mid-term polls.
Obama rallied crowds in Los Angeles, California, and was to move on to gambling paradise Nevada in a bid to rescue wobbling Democratic Senate majority leader Harry Reid, on the third day of a four-day campaign blitz.
He charged that the first Republican president, his political hero Abraham Lincoln would not be able to win the opposition party's presidential nomination in the modern age.
"Seriously, can you imagine him trying to run with these folks?" Obama said, in a bid to portray the Republican Party as outside the mainstream ahead of November 2 congressional polls in which his Democrats fear heavy losses.
Obama accused Republicans of sitting on their hands while he saved the economy from a second Great Depression and of wanting to go back to the same lax regulatory regimes that caused the crisis in the first place.
"This agenda that poses as conservatism is not conservative. It resulted in a radical shift from record surpluses to record deficits, allowed Wall Street to run wild, nearly destroyed our economy," Obama said.
"This is a choice between the past and the future, between fear and hope, between moving backwards and moving forwards. And I don't know about you, but I want to move forward," Obama said, at a campaign event for under-fire Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer.
"They are clinging to the same worn-out, tired, snake-oil ideas that they were peddling before."

Did he actually use the term “reactionary” or is that just AP’s word choice? Certainly someone at least, whether in the White House or in the Associated Press newsroom, is channeling their inner Marxist.

Obama is an arch reactionary that wants to restore the totalitarian world of absolute government power that existed in 1775. He wants to undo the American Revolution.

Everything the man does is planned, intentional, pre-meditated. Anything and Anyone, who is wholesome, natural, common sense is radical to him, compared to him. He has taken the mask off, and more and more people see him clearly. Seriously, the whole regime have given up even trying to hide who they are. And we are in for a wold of hurt if we do not stop them.
Anyone in Congress who does not realize that, is themselves, the enemy as well.
But, but, but I thought he just said Republicans were snake oil salesmen. Of course, I guess he’s always free to correct himself. Perhaps he meant to say all along that Republicans are radical snake oil salesmen, though that seems like sort of an odd concept. Still, I guess Obama would know one when he say one, since it takes one to know one, right?
At this point in our history we need radicals, nay revolutionaries.

He never got the message that only 20% of the US population consider themselves liberal/progressive. (Smooth way of covering over communist sympathizers) He and Pelosi and Reid have lived in a bubble for so many years once they got the chance, they knew they had to act as quickly to mess things up and place us firmly on the European track so that even if they did leave office, the US would end up just like the rest of the world, maybe even Third World. That 20% HATE the US and themselves.

There was a time when Bob Dole said we need to make a choice “between the main stream and the extreme”, when he desperately wanted to attract voters to RINO values rather than let them wander into Buchanan’s camp. Now we see those tactics no longer work, when the main stream realizes that the extreme is who lives in the white house and he’s basically socialist.
