You know...up until the 1960s...folks dressed up in nice clothing to vote. I remember my dad making a comment once of guys wearing ties and jackets when they went over to vote. Today? You could see a gal in a tube top...flip flops....and some skimpy skirt...acting in the interest of democracy.

Are you kidding me? Guys don't wear anything close to ties and jackets even for weddings and funerals anymore.

I think it's a commentary on this coarsening society.

I remember my father crawling out from under the car, showering and changing clothes before going to NAPA for parts. Then he'd come home, change again, and finish with the car.

I've never been that civilized, LOL

I agree—people shouldn’t dress any less nicely to go vote than they do to go to shirt. I would never dream of wearing a T-shirt to go vote.

That being said, the CT Secretary of State isn’t banning T-shirts, he’s banning WWE T-shirts because they are somehow “political” just because McMahon is on the ballot. Will he similarly instruct poll officers to order voters to remove SEIU T-shirts?

And since Blumenthal is on the ballot, shouldn’t they ban T-shirts that prominently display the word “Liar”? : )
