Barack Obama Rally At USC Runs Long
LA Weekly ^ | Oct 22, 2010 | Gene Maddaus

Posted on 10/23/2010 8:44:03 PM PDT by SmartInsight

More than an hour into today's presidential rally at USC, actor Jamie Foxx led the crowd chant of "We're not exhausted."

It's not much of a rallying cry. But for much of the crowd of 37,500, it wasn't even true. Attendees were made to stand in line for hours before being subjected to too many speakers and too much Ozomatli.

By the time Jerry Brown hit the stage, he had to apologize for even being there. "I'm not going to talk too long," he said, drawing a chorus of cheers.

By the time Obama took the stage -- at 2:05 p.m. -- many folks had been on their feet for five hours. He made sure people got what they came for -- a good, solid 25 minutes of Republican-bashing red meat. If you've seen any of the president's other recent rallies on C-SPAN, you got the gist.

These campus rallies have got to be marginally useful at best. College students, most of whom didn't even vote two years ago are there out of curiosity and star-gazing. The rest are the choir and already know the song. I guess it beats dealing with irate real citizens though.

Nothing like having 37,000 Dumbocrats waiting 5 hours to hear how “Hope and Change” are going to make the “Trains Run On Time”!

“We are not exhausted” is about as inspiring as “We don’t suck much.”

Don’t tell me that the Obamanoids in Obama’s state run “media” are stuck on the crowd size of 37,000. That’s weird. Never heard of that happening before. Probably the number in the Obamanoid press release.

Chants, war drums, and even Tarzan can't save the day for them...it's too late baby, now, it's too late.

I thought someone once said that obama was a "political genius". Looks like another obama realted lie. Most everything related to him has turned out to be a lie.

Well, let them chant. Jim Jones probably did the same type of thing at Jonestown, and we all know how that turned out.

Kool-Aid anyone?

I think the concert promoters are given the leeway to up the number between 500 to 1000. LOL!

I just found it odd that there were 37,000 at the concert Barry attended yesterday.

Doesn’t that mean overtime pay for those who attended?

I would not waste my Saturday at a rally 10 days before an election. I don’t care who’s speaking!

I phone banked today.

Those 37,500 students should ask their Class of 2009 and Class of 2010 friends what they are doing now for a living. Most would say “living with Mom & Dad” and “washing dishes at the burger joint.”

I don’t think ONE of our friends’ recent graduates has found a job better than bottle washer.

But, of course, they would be unable to connect the failed Keynesian / Kenyan policies with the lack of work.

Stupid college kids - the only audience the Obozo dares appear in front of because they’re the only ones dumb enough to still think he’s “cool.” And that’s only because they haven’t yet tried to get a job.
