The only poll I will believe will be the one taken after the polls close. Of course that could be skewed too when you take the unions, acorn and illegal aliens into count.

She is running the worst campaign I have ever seen. She is practically painting herself as Arnold II. Just another RINO and considering that the fecal material is just beginning to impact the rotary oscillating cooling unit I’m not sure if it would be anything but loss to have an (R) holding the bag. That said, Jerry is still Jerry :-( Man do we need a new party or two.

Running corporate moderates as candidates puts conservatives on the defense in a class war. It allows the left to paint Republicans as "the party of big business," when in fact the left is the party of huge business, simply because socialism offers government the power to control competitive outcomes.

Reality Check: Until Repubs fight dirty with dirty they will continue to lose elections. We REALLY need to end both the Dems and Repubs.

I imagine the exodus of the productive will accelerate

You got that right. If we don't win big, this state is doomed, and this native Californian of 50 years is gone. In fact, this state is doomed even if Meg "I'm a huge fan of Van Jones" Whitman wins. She's just another ruling class elitist like Schwarzennegger.

In order to fix this state, the public employee unions have to be outlawed, and the border must be closed. Neither of which are going to happen.

No surprise here.

Neither the far left or right will vote for Whitman. There's simply not enough malleable Republican partisans in the middle to overcome the SEIU.

California needs one more cycle of going down the tubes before they figure out their State is chock full of idiots. It hasn’t quite dawned on the fruited brains yet that they are flat broke and about to go bankrupt. And what these low information dunces also haven’t figured out is that once the Pubs have control of the House, which will be soon, very soon, there won’t be that pot of gold they are expecting from the federal gov’t to bail them out. I feel sorry for the conservative few in California that will be taken down with these mentally challenged midgets of mind, but my suggestion to them is to move the heck out of the State and head for Texas.

Folks might want to read about the “Duke of Duval”...an interesting part of Texas history. It looks like it is repeating itself in California.

“The Parr machine functioned on bribery, graft, and illegal donations. Political support came from the southern most counties in Texas. The Parr machine could produce large numbers of votes, both legal and illegal, from both the impoverished and uneducated, and the working class Mexican-American majority population. As a result, the county saw its largely marginalized but large numbers of native Texan yeoman farmers slowly disappear leaving the county commission to be controlled by the Parr family and its cronies. While the Parr Machine had always asserted undue influence over the county’s affairs, it was not until Archer Parr that its leadership felt safely secure to overwhelm the remaining independent white farmers by appealing directly to county’s new Mexican-American majority by offering them jobs (and in some cases cash directly from the county coffers) in exchange for political support.”

Earlier articles said the poll was of “1500 PEOPLE” (not even “adults”), NOW it says it’s of 1500 “registered voters”, and 922 “likely voters”. I read an article that said that pollsters define “likely voters” in many different ways, some of them are totally unreliable.

I think this is just a poll to give hope to them Dems and get them to the polls.

If Brown were leading by that much, there would be no need for Obama to go to CA, in a blue blue state to shore up the Dems.

The “likely voter” screen produces flawed poll results

http://www.blogforarizona.com/blog/2010/10/the-likely-voter-screen-of-polling-produces-flawed-results.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+BlogForArizona+%28Blog+For+Arizona%29

Who’s Going to Vote This Year?

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2010/10/22/whos_going_to_vote_this_year_107686.html

“Pollsters do their best to solve this problem by screening out those who are unlikely to vote using a question or series of questions probing interest in the election and/or prior voting behavior. These techniques vary widely from pollster to pollster. Some pollsters use especially “loose” voter screens: asking only, for example, if someone is certain to vote, without probing any deeper.

For example, simply asking respondents if they are certain to vote (used by Suffolk) will sometimes let more than 90 percent of respondents through a screen. In such a situation, nearly half of the respondents who are counted will not actually vote.”

Run Away, RUN AWAY!!!

You know, some of us don't have that option, having made our commitments to do something to save the likes of you. But who gives a crap about, lives, fortunes and sacred honor and all that anyway?

Um... what makes you think California is incapable of taking Texas down with it?

CA has to be the most stupid state in the union.

The United States should succeed from it!

They are assuming an even distribution of votes based on the percentages various parties and groups represent in the registered electorate.

Latinos will not turn out...and neither will the black vote or the Young vote.

Unions and chronic leftists will turn out...but the rest of the left vote is pekid, at best.

The conservatives and libertarians ARE FIRED UP and will vote in historical percentages.

“If California puts these 2 Socialist commies back in charge they deserve to be exiled out of the union based on stupidity alone.”

Agreed. California has become a drag on the country, and if its electorate elects Brown and Boxer it should be expelled from the United States, as it will be clear that it is finished and that it will expect the rest of the country to bail it out.

And the rest of ya will be stuck with Obama and those from both big government partyies.

Fact is, most of these folks, along with others, we're never from California, and are born and raised in NE states, and or NY, MA, Illinois etc.

Pelosi, Boxer etc...The Governor was born in another country for cripes sakes, etc....

They're as much Californians as Bush is a Texan. Yuk yuk.

It is SO IMPORTANT to win these races.

Defeating Boxer is our 10th seat, kicking Boxer out of the chair she is using to destroy US industries is key.

And Brown as gov will deliver 10 years of gerrymandering and over 50 electoral votes for Democrats.

I don’t believe these polls. People in CA cannot be so stupid as to let that state go under.
