Rasmussen : Connecticut Senate: Blumenthal (D) Stretches Lead Over McMahon (R) (56%-43%)
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 10/25/2010

State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal again holds a double-digit lead over Republican opponent Linda McMahon in Connecticut’s U.S. Senate race.

The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Connecticut shows the longtime Democratic state official with 56% support, his best showing since early June. McMahon claims 43%of the vote. One percent (1%) prefer some other candidate, and another one percent (1%) are undecided.

Less than two weeks ago after the candidates’ second televised debate, Blumenthal posted a much narrower 51% to 46% lead. But the new findings shift this race from Leans Democrat to Solid Democrat in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Senate Balance of Power rankings.

Despite the ups and downs of the contest, including the New York Times’ disclosure that Blumenthal has embellished his military record in public comments over the years, the Democrat has led consistently in polling since January.

Can’t depend on the rich leftist elites of CT to do the right thing.

One of the most difficult things to do is to get a congenital Democrat to not pull the party lever.

Ct like California is a liberal septic tank that will neer be pumped. Liberals will win every time and that’s just the way it is.

Shoot. If you have anyone in Connecticut you know who is not politically aware, encourage them to send a message to Obama by voting for Linda McMahon.

Fight, fight, fight to the end!

Ugghhh:(

How can the people in CT sleep at night if they even consider voting for this slimy excuse for a person?

This is just pathetic. Why don’t the rich CT residents just write obama a check for half of their wealth. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

At this point, we have no choice but to to kiss CT goodbye.

The Democratic lead looks insurmountable here.

Rasmussen is an accurate and GOP sympathizing poll, and it looks like MOST undecideds in CT have made up their mind.

The GOP could really have done better than nominating someone who runs the WWE...

Let’s look at the other states in the meantime...

I had high hopes for this race, but it was always a long shot. CT is so liberal that there just aren't enough conservatives to lock it down no matter how high our turnout. These liberal bastions are going to need to totally collapse before the people there start to think about abandoning their Democrat slave masters. I fear that we will need to see a wave of Detroitification in all of America's large cities before this is over.

I agree with your post.

Isn’t it interesting how so many polls are showing Democrats surging?

It won’t change the way I am voting.

Polls are great tools for analysis and lousy tools for behavior modification.

If the Dems in CT don’t bother voting, it doesn’t matter how many were “likely voters”. So we have to keep talking victory, working hard, and getting our side fired up!

Why don’t the rich CT residents just write obama a check for half of their wealth.

Because, like NY most that could have already moved to FL taking their anti-Democrat votes with them

We really need to write off the bluest blue states like Connecticut and Delaware. We can put a candidate on the ballot; but it is not worth any money or resources. Blumenthal is a weak candidate by any definition. If he cannot be defeated in this climate after his sorry debate performances and after lying about his military record then no one but a ‘rat has a chance in that state.

My Gosh, they will be stuck with this Yuppie Elitist Puke for 6 years while the rest of the Country will move Center - Center Right.

He has never created a job, but has created things that have not helped business and more.

CT will look like fools.

Oh well, she can run again in 2 years, next up Joe Liberman....

Well, if Rasmussen is saying this, it doesn’t look good.

Tax rates in Fairfield County have gone through the roof. I can’t imagine why those jerks continue to vote leftist.

I’ve said it in the past: you can usually count on CT voters to consistently do the wrong thing.

Crooked is as crooked does. If that’s the best they can do (or want to do) then so be it. One thing for sure, he won’t have the Committee power his predecessor had.
