State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal again holds a double-digit lead over Republican opponent Linda McMahon in Connecticuts U.S. Senate race.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Connecticut shows the longtime Democratic state official with 56% support, his best showing since early June. McMahon claims 43%of the vote. One percent (1%) prefer some other candidate, and another one percent (1%) are undecided.
Less than two weeks ago after the candidates second televised debate, Blumenthal posted a much narrower 51% to 46% lead. But the new findings shift this race from Leans Democrat to Solid Democrat in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Senate Balance of Power rankings.
Despite the ups and downs of the contest, including the New York Times disclosure that Blumenthal has embellished his military record in public comments over the years, the Democrat has led consistently in polling since January.
RE: Linda McMahon typifies the stupidity of Tea Partiers.
Did the Tea Party heartily endorse her? I seem to have missed that one...
RE: Why does Blumenthal have such a big lead? Or is it a bogus poll?
I find it quite funny that a lot of FReepers would heartily believe Rasmussen when the candidate they support is winning, and then suddenly doubt the poll (and call it bogus) when the results don’t turn out the way they want it to.
Hey, if it’s bad news, it’s bad news.
We might not like it, but Rasmussen has been one of the most accurate pollsters the past 3 or 4 election cycles.
I think it’s just wishful thinking on my part that people have come to their senses. It’s so diappointing to see that many have not.
This is The Peoples Republic of CT
Or is it a bogus poll?
I would like to think so. Bloomie is trotting out the father of a wrestler that killed his family a while back. Story at the link below.

They are NOT morons..CT is one of the wealthiest states with some of the biggest captains of industry living there. Liberalism is a mindset, it is a religion. One that just can’t be changed in one cycle.
Like I said, morons. Just like here in WA State, but we’ve got almost 50/50, morons vs. patriots
what are the odds Dino wins?
I’m going to say he wins, 51-49
" Praise Jesus. We need a friggin' miracle to elect this lying POS. If we don't
hold onto the damn Senate my stupid husband will look like a total screw-up."
"Those were the days---me in uniform in Vietnam."
I’ve been going door-to-door in a wealthy suburb in CT for the past 3 weeks. I’ve lived here for most of my life and still do not understand these people.
There’s a cultural animosity toward the Republican party combined with a comatose conservative movement, combined with incompetent disinterested Republican campaigns ... tough to win with all that going on. Linda’s consultants: get their names and blacklist them.
Ah, jeez. I just googled. She hired Davi Cappiello, a former CT state senator who lost big in his one run for congress in 2008 as her campaign manager for $280,000 a year, and Suzan Bibisi, the wife of the state party chairman Chris Healy for her PR.
I guess that explains why the state party went with her over the more competitive Rob Simmons for the party nomination—but also why she’s run such a mismanaged campaign.
Here’s her media guy, who must have been making a mint:

Thanks for putting in all the good work!
some of Linda’s TV is well done.
I think her direct mail is pathetic.
I’m one of those TV-less freaks, but I get the direct mail almost daily now.
