A preliminary geological survey has indicated that there might be about 26 million barrels of recoverable oil a mile under the sand near two kibbutzim in the northern Negev. That would amount to about $2 billion at current prices. There might be 12 million additional barrels further down. This news comes a day after drilling began on the Leviathan, a record-setting exploratory well in a massive natural-gas field off the coast of Haifa. The area is thought to contain 16 trillion cubic feet of gas, and it might also contain oil.

might be about 26 million barrels of recoverable oil Seems rather insignificant to me. This is "million" with an M, that "might" be.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see it happen.
The smart thing is not to incur those debts.
Too late for that.

Hopefully Obama will apply pressure on Israel to leave the oil and gas in the ground. The last thing any nation wants is energy independence. Leave the jobs in the ground too. It works on the Gulf Coast.
Another idea Obama won't like, it wasn't his.

Obastard doesn’t believe that “green energy” will save us for a second. His agenda is to destroy the United States and he will use any excuse to do it.

Although it has never been suggested or speculated, but somehow I suspect that the many earthquakes predicted during the end-times will somehow shift & relocate current underground oil/gas deposits so that a lot of the oil currently under arab/persian lands will relocate to be under Israel!! :-) :-0 :-)
That would be something!!

Israel uses
250K barrels a day of crude. 26 million Barrells would not be an export. It would be 104 days worth of oil. Even 38 million barrels would be 5 months of oil consumption.

It’s probably based on the Israeli demand for oil, not America’s.
