Maine will see that when Mississippi can get rid of a “blue dog” dem they can get rid of a “red dog” rep.

I hate SOBs that think that EVERYTHING is a “right”. NO ONE has a right to what I earn except my spouse and minor children!

I remember the day when if you couldn't afford a telephone line, you did without it.

Today, with the "Progressives"; if your neighbor can afford it, YOU should get it at someone elses' expense (via confiscation through taxation of those who have worked for what they own).

It's ALL about "OBAMA MONEY.....FROM HIS STASH!"

Thanks rabscuttle385.
says like the telephone, the Internet is a basic service that everyone should have access t
And thanks pnh102 for this:
So let's see if we can figure this out... we raise the price of broadband by taxing it, so that we can make it more affordable for everyone.

before you bash this idea, What snowe is proposing is access to unfettered political opinion that is not filtered by the main stream media.

In other words, giving the “poor” access to drudge, free republic and other non-traditional media may help the conservative cause.

True, I’m not for subsidizing it, but could this be a case that leads to a complete dismantling of the traditional press and media delivery system in our country?

Telecommunications Act was all about when it was created in 1934 was to extend the basic communication service to all.”

So I guess we should find folks who don’t have basic telecommunications (PHONES) and run a line out to em!
Internet is not basic communication!

Thanks.

I do not foresee the citizens of Maine ousting either Snowe or Collins

It's not the citizens of Maine that need to oust her, it is the Maine Republican Party that needs to run a conservative in the next primary.

Both snow and Collins have already went over to the other side years ago, they just haven’t changed their labels.

I don't want to think about a 51/49 majority with the Ditz Sisters of Maine in the US Senate. We might just as well be in the minority with these two *ssclowns in office...

You are correct, that is indeed what needs to happen. So, what do you think is the probability of that happening?

I have no idea. I think it depends on two things.

1) Convincing a really good conservative candidate to run.

2) Conservatives in Maine becoming active on local republican committees.
