WASHINGTON The Republican Party has scrapped plans for a costly last-minute TV blitz on behalf of congressional nominee Bill Flores.
Democrats said the move signals that Republicans are giving up hope of unseating Rep. Chet Edwards. But Flores disagreed, saying that it means he's in such good shape, the national party can devote its resources elsewhere.

Not sure what to make of this. Haven't seen any polling for sometime covering this race.
Go to the source for the rest of the story.

He doesn’t need the help. Edwards is done.

Edwards is a political lifer. He wouldn’t know how to act as a regular citizen.

As one of the comments says, DMN stands for Demoncrap Morning News.
The worst they can acuse Flores of is this: “Last week, Flores struggled to explain a comment to WFAA-TV (Ch. 8) in which he indicated a willingness to raise the Social Security retirement age. He tried to retract the comment, blaming a headache for a misstatement. Then evidence emerged that he had previously embraced the possibility of raising the retirement age.”
Well, as a matter of fact, it might be necessary to do something like that, rather than see the social security system go belly up. It’s not Flores’s fault that the program has been mismanaged for 70 years and that congress has immediately spent all the social security deductions paid into the non-existent trust fund.
He backed off because this is known as the third rail of politics, so he’d rather not talk about it until it’s necessary.

Can any Texas FR "Broadband Journalist" give us the scoop on this situation. Being in Honduras right now, I get all of my news and commentary from FR -- siempre y solamente.

Hey GOPs! How ‘bout some action on AZ-7? Ruth could use a little help! It would be like a good swift kick in La Raza’s ass. I mean donkey.

Thank you. The Repubs should have put out a statement when they pulled the money saying why.

We'll know in a week.

I see Flores winning. Now if we could just get rid of Lloyd Doggett. Sheesh.

I voted for Jay Mathis back in 96 over Chet. Lost by about 6 points. I’ll be glad to see him go. Wished I could have voted for Flores this time.
