“The court determined Arizona’s polling place photo identification requirement, however, is a minimal burden and does not violate the Equal Protection Clause in the 14th Amendment”

Kinda confusing. So was the decision that “proof of citizenship” is not required however a photo id is still required?

Associate Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, temporarily sitting by designation, and Circuit Judge Sandra Ikuta, with chief judge Alex Kozinski dissenting...

Isn't O'Connor from Arizona? Way to put in the knife and twist, Sandy!

Sandy is no longer a USSC justice. Her compensation and retirement benefits can be slashed.

McCain’s La Raza friends. This needs an emergency appeal to the next higher court.

Yes, we do.

Overturning a law passed by voters in a sovereign state is a clear violation of the Tenth Amendment!

So Arizona should require proof of citizenship in order to get a photo ID.

Well, now all Az has to do is require proof of citizenship for all photo ID’s that are approved as ID for voting.

I’m not a lawyer, so I’ll pose this question to those with more legal knowledge. What would happen if AZ just told them to stick the decision and continued requiring proof?

I mean, could the decision be more transparently timed? These people have no shame.

I was wondering what that loud noise to the north was. Apparently it was the sound of the 9th Circuit going over a cliff.

Here is what I’d like to know. It is illegal to hire illegal aliens here for work but, there is a bill in congress to make citizens out of anyone in the military that is not a citizen...

So the fed is hiring illegals which is against the law?

That about right.

Absolutely NOTHING. Which is why Brewer should so announce. A court could later charge them fees/penalties for non-compliance and could order highway or education funds cut, but the new GOP House is not likely to be too keen on complying with that.
