Project 21 Members Protest as Career Prosecutors Reveal the U.S. Justice Department is Refusing to Enforce Laws Protecting the Civil Rights of White Voters

Washington, D.C. - In light of the imminent release of a report on the Justice Department's apparent politicization of the case of alleged voting rights abuses by the New Black Panthers, members of the Project 21 black leadership network are commenting on revelations that federal civil rights enforcement is not being administered in an impartial manner.

"'Equal justice under law' is as central to the American idea as 'life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.'

Unfortunately, this now appears to be an alien concept at the Barack Obama-Eric Holder Department of Justice," said Project 21 member D. Murdock.

"The American people should be enraged at news reports -- corroborated by the sworn testimony of career federal prosecutors J. Christian Adams and Christopher Coates -- that supervisors at the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division seemingly have decided not to prosecute cases in which blacks are the perpetrators and/or whites are the victims of federal crimes at the polls. It now is not the content of one's criminal behavior but the color of one's skin that matters at today's Justice Department. Who knew that race-conscious prosecution, or non-prosecution, would be part of the 'change' that President Obama promised us?"

Two career Justice Department prosecutors, J. Christian Adams and Christopher Coates, testified before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights about Obama Administration Justice Department political appointees opposing the prosecution of three members of the New Black Panther Party for alleged voter intimidation on Election Day 2008. That case, brought against the men during the Bush Administration, was settled early in the Obama Administration after a default judgment had been made.

The settlement allegedly was made at the insistence of Obama political appointees.

A report on this case, compiled by the Civil Rights Commission after a year-long investigation, is scheduled to be released this week.

According to the October 23 edition of the Washington Post, three other Justice Department lawyers, who spoke anonymously out of fear of retaliation by supervisors, confirmed charges made by Adams and Coates about an overall environment favoring selective civil rights enforcement. One lawyer told the Post: "There are career people who feel strongly that it is not the voting rights section's job to protect white voters. The environment is that you better toe the line of traditional civil rights ideas or you better keep quiet about it, because you will not advance, you will not receive rewards and you will be ostracized."

"Short of donning robes, hoods and burning crosses, it is hard for me to imagine a more glaring racist practice than that which the Obama-Holder Justice Department has apparently adopted," said Project 21's Massie. "It is not just an insult to the Constitution, but a complete abrogation of the Declaration of Independence pursuant to equal justice. The greatness of America can be found in our nation's Pledge of Allegiance in the words 'with liberty and justice for all.' Nowhere is it stated or intimated that said justice and freedom is to be based on color of skin."

Impeachment would be desirable, but appears impossible at this point in time. The current line of succession (Biden, and until after the election, Speaker of the House Pelosi) isn’t inspiring, either.

Project 21 is an initiative of The National Center for Public Policy Research to promote the views of African-Americans whose entrepreneurial spirit, dedication to family and commitment to individual responsibility has not traditionally been echoed by the nation’s civil rights establishment.

Project 21 participants have been interviewed by hundreds of media outlets, including the O’Reilly Factor, Hannity and Colmes, the CNN Morning News, Black Entertainment Television’s Lead Story, America’s Black Forum, the McLaughlin Group, C-SPAN’s Morning Journal and the Rush Limbaugh, Michael Reagan, Sean Hannity, G. Gordon Liddy and Larry King shows, as well as in newspapers such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Washington Times and many others.

Project 21 participants live all over the U.S. and have a variety of careers. What they have in common is a desire to make America a better place for African-Americans, and all Americans, to live and work. Project 21 members do this in a variety of ways in their own communities, and, through Project 21, by writing opinion editorials for newspapers, participating in public policy discussions on radio and television, by participating in policy panels, by giving speeches before student, business and community groups, and by advising policymakers at the national, state and local levels.

At the moment the deck is stacked against justice.

I truly never thought I’d see America in this situation.

Obama is evil to the core and so do those that support him. Enough is out there on him, so there is NO EXCUSE.

It will be very interesting to see if the NBP tries a repeat performance at the polls next week. Lots of chances to catch them breaking the law again...

“I truly never thought I’d see America in this situation.”

Neither did I, along with hearing the things I’ve heard for the past two years. So much hatred unleashed and all of it staggeringly illogical and based on psychosis.

“supervisors at the Voting Section of the Civil Rights Division seemingly have decided not to prosecute cases in which blacks are the perpetrators and/or whites are the victims of federal crimes at the polls”

This is Great White Defendant syndrome. Cops and prosecutors are sick and tired of the assembly line of blacks coming into “the system,” and they certainly don’t pursue civil rights cases, of all things, to go after yet more “people of color.”

Just an interesting side note:

I was working the polls a few years back and I overheard two democrats, both white guys, bemoaning the fact that the democratic party at the local level no longer includes white men.

The one guy said, "I have been attending state conventions for years. I am usually on a committee, and I have never seen anything like this."

Then he went into detail about his one meeting where he was the only white guy. "If you are black, hispanic or a woman you have control. You'd a thought I had leprosy."

I know this guy well. He's not a crybaby. We happen to be on opposite sides on a number of issues, but I respect his opinion.

He now considers himself an independent and did admit to voting for one Republican in the state rep race in 2008.

The Obama Administration will go down in HISTORY as the Most CORRUPT and EVIL ever in the entire History of America.

Additionally, Obama makes Jimmy Carter look saintly.

Project 21 is a good organization.

They’ve been around for a long time.

NOW, we see that they truly want “justice for all”.

Thanks to Obama and his thugs in action, we have taken race relations BACK at least 100 years. Obama hates WHITE people.

Here’s an interview that goes back to 1995!

I was HORRIFIED when I read it BEFORE the election. I saw enough of Obama to KNOW not to vote for him but I didn’t realize he was this hostile to WHITES, CAPITALISM, the INDIVIDUAL and our way of life. I urge you to read it.

What Makes Obama Run?

Lawyer, teacher, philanthropist, and author Barack Obama doesn’t need another career.
But he’s entering politics to get back to his true passion—community organization.
