Are you a “useless eater”?

Question one: Are you a “useless eater”?

In Assisted Suicide - How the chattering classes have got it wrong, Cristina Odone, from the Centre for Policy Studies, London, explains how, ''Legalising assisted suicide and euthanasia will put the socially marginalised at serious risk. Attempts to change the law should be resisted."

For starters, ''The elderly, people with severe disabilities, the mentally unstable, and those with terminal illnesses will be presented with self-inflicted death as a natural, normal and expected final solution.''

Of course, the right-to-die-with-dignity movement was popularized by Hitler’s National Socialist German Workers’ Party, although the Red Russians must be remembered for their creepy contributions too. Or as Odone puts it, ''A society cleansed of the feeble, the infirm, the imperfect: it is a template others in history have sought. We should remember at what cost.''

I heard a great joke from actor Gary Graham today. “I called the suicide hotline and was rerouted to a call center in Pakistan. When they learned I was suicidal, they became very excited and asked if I knew how to drive a truck.”

Liberals would love to be free to exterminate the “terminally depressed.” Conservatism would be the first iron clad sign of the condition. Bring on the camps!

Where were the feminists and the disability lobby to prevent the brutal murder of innocent Terri Schiavo?

Heh, too many good answers! I also loved the “I am not a Democrat” along with “Government Worker”. I’m sure there are many more, but these two are some of the best and surely most appropriate.

This is one case where Godwin’s Law does not apply. It is perfectly right and natural to talk about Nazis when discussing the Right to Die movement.

The Right to Die will morph almost overnight into The Duty to Die, around about the time the government starts picking up the tab for everybody’s health care.

Lopping 10 years off the average life span would make so many of society’s problems just go away. Social Security would be fully funded... Medicare would be a small fraction of the current expense... Pensions would be in the black again...

Why, we’d be crazy NOT to do it!

Of the 30,000,000 babies who have been legally murdered since the Supremes gave their O.K., there were likely a lot of very “useful” people.

Why do liberals love death so much? (except for condemned murderers and convicted terrorists)
- because they are self-loathing nihilists who are nothing, have nothing, believe in nothing, and are worth nothing.

The article implicitly references the German Action T4 (or T-4).

The eugenics movement in the US in the first half of the 20th Century was driven by the evolution of Molecular Biology and was supported and developed by The Rockefeller Foundation - among others. Eugenics was considered quite respectable, dignified and a solution to many social and health issues at the time.
Lily E. Kay “The Molecular Vision of Life: Caltech,The Rockefeller Foundation, and The Rise of The New Biology” provides an historical perspective.
