Tony Blair’s sister-in-law announced her conversion to Islam last weekend. Journalist Lauren Booth embraced the faith after what she describes as a ‘holy experience’ in Iran.
She is just one of a growing number of modern British career women to do so. Here, writer EVE AHMED, who was raised as a Muslim before rejecting the faith, explores the reasons why.

About 6 million Moslems are born again as Christians every year...
Granted thats 6 for every 1,000 Moslems, but its a start...

I was just thinking what the “holy” experience might have been. Maybe she participated in the stoning of an adulteress and is trying to escape prosecution by hiding behind a burka?

Granted thats 6 for every 1,000 Moslems, but its a start...
And, IIRC, the numbers leaving islam (lower case intended) are greater than those converting to it.

It's because in all aspects this world abhors a vacuum. Spiritually the West(US, Great Britain, France) has been a vacuum for almost 60 years and all types of cults(Islam, Buddhism, Celtic religions est) have rushed in to fill the voids that have been created.

That is a HUGE number - I counted about 4 women who obviously have some sort of void in their lives or who are publicity poseurs.
Just another example of wanting to ‘rebel’ or ‘buck the trend’.
I expect none of them are part of a ‘72 virgin’ contingent.
They probably have left-over guilties from abandoning their Church of England upbringing and are attempting to replace it with some type of spiritual new-age anti-tradition exhibitionism.
IMHO:)
