Election Day isnt until Tuesday, but the postgame spin has already begun. Conventional wisdom is blaming Democrats expected poor performance on the lousy economy. Democrats blame the influx of outside money. And Republicans are thanking Nancy Pelosi.
But the reality that Democrats hate to discuss and even some Republicans have been hesitant to fully embrace is that the partys signature health care law is whats turning a bad election year into a disaster of potential history-making proportions.
It was the debate over health care that propelled now-Sen. Scott Browns unlikely special election victory in Massachusetts back in January. And its the growing unpopularity of the new law thats fueling Republican energy, turning off independents and jeopardizing the prospects of dozens of Democrats who looked like locks for reelection just a year ago.
Theres no doubt that the health care bill is unpopular. A new Battleground Poll shows 54 percent opposed to it, 40 percent strongly. This weeks' Society for Human Resource Management/National Journal Congressional Connection Poll, conducted with the Pew Research Center, showed voters favor repealing the law by a 10-point margin, 51 to 41 percent. Republicans have been hammering Democrats across the country over their votes for the legislation, even in solidly Democratic states and districts. Of the many Democratic lawmakers in trouble, only a brave and principled few, such as Sen. Russell Feingold, D-Wis., and Rep. Scott Murphy, D-N.Y., have even mentioned their support for the bill and the latest polls have both trailing in their reelection bids.

The only things that the Republicans need to do now to win the presidency in 2012 is:
1. take back at least one branch of congress, preferably two. (which we are about to do on Tuesday)
2. pass a simple repeal of obamacare.
3. Obama being a moron, veto's the repeal.
4. 2012 Republican candidate ____ says if elected he will sign the repeal of Obamacare.
5. game over for Obama.
I read it this morning. Very good opinion piece. Pretty much nails it.
And remember, this is only Wave 1 in the Senate.
In 2012 the Dems are playing huge defense with 20 seats up vs only 10 Repub seats (all safe red states other than Brown in Mass and Snowe in Maine).
Here are the Dems in danger in 2012 from states where Obamacare is unpopular: All voted for Obamacare: Ben Nelson (NE), Claire McCaskill (MS), Jon Tester (MT), Kent Conrad (ND), Jim Webb (VA), Sherrod Brown (OH), Bill Nelson (FL), Bob Casey, Jr.(PA), Jeff Bingaman (NM), Debbie Stabenow (MI), Amy Klobuchar (MN), Herb Kohl (WI)
Others (fairly safe for now) in deep Blue states: Dianne Feinstein (CA), Tom Carper (DE), Daniel Akaka (HI), Ben Cardin (MD), Bob Menendez (NJ), Kirsten Gillibrand (NY), Sheldon Whitehouse (RI)
Didn't Boy Obama tell the country that our health care system would collapse without passing Obamacare?
Did the corrupt MSM do all they could to help their life partners, the Democrats, to pass Obamacare and all the Tea Party stuff was phony astro-turff racist stuff?
Close.
1. Pass a simple one page bill: “The [name of Obamacare] bill is hereby repealed in it’s entirety.”
2. Pass another one page bill: “The [name of stimulus bill] bill is hereby repealed in it’s entirety. It shall be a felony to spend any money previously appropriated but not yet spent under this bill. All such money shall be returned to the treasury and used to reduce the national debt.
3. Pass another one page bill: “The border fence authorized in [name of bill] shall be completed by ______. This mandate overrides all other provisions of state and federal law.”
4. Pass another one-page bill: “The Troubled Asset Relief Program monies that are unspent shall be returned to the treasury and used to reduce the national debt.”
5. Pass another one-page bill: “The Environmental Protection Agency has no jurisdiction or authority over regulation of CO2 or nor has it any authority to regulate the type of lightbulbs used by consumers or businesses.”
6. Roll back federal spending to October 2008 levels, just before TARP and Obama messed everything up. This would be sold as a “hold the line” measure, pending examination of ways to accomplish further reductions in spending.
It’s not just health care. It’s spending, it’s the deficit, it’s the border fence, it’s cap and trade.
It’s important to keep things simple so that the rats and the media cannot attack subsections of long complex bills.
The 2012 election is one reason to have us control the Senate this time around. We need to get a bill to the floor of the Senate to outright repeal healthcare (this bill will get to the floor of the House) and get these Dims votes on the record. I think if we don’t control the Senate the bill from the House to repeal healthcare will die in committee and never get to the floor of the Senate for a vote.
I like your strategy with the ‘short and sweet’ bills to repeal, etc.!
It has the feel of censorship of our freedom of speech.
They backed off of the anti-freedom of speech fishy flag@whitehouse.gov —you wouldve thought they might have learned something.
Even though the Health Care Bill is destructive, costly, unconstitutional and almost unspeakably draconian,
the fact that the Democrats ignored us on the Health Care issue is the main reason they are losing.
Any idea who will be appointed to take his place?
Note to 0bama:
All your base are belong to us!

Many of the bums that voted for the hoax-based Cap n Trade Tax will be voted out because of that also!
Remember to push the red button in the voting booth like the totalitarian 350 1010 enviro-Nazis did to blow up the schoolchildren in their commercial.
Lets blow up the Democrats political careers or lose our country to the Marxists.
No pressure.
“I like your strategy with the short and sweet bills to repeal, etc.!”
It makes it hard for the old media to obscure what the issue is. It also makes a nice contrast with the 1900 page bills.
