1: People watch who they agree with. About 15.5 mil agree with FOX, about 5.5 mil agree with (P)MSNBC, about 2.2 agree with CNN.
2: Ratings drive revenues. Sponsors do not pay a fixed rate for commercials. They pay per 1000 viewers delivered. That means FNC is earning about 3 times what MSNBC is, 7 times what CN is, and FNC has lower fixed costs than either!
3: CNN is no longer even a serious player.
4: Some shows are DOA; Behar, Schuultz, and possibly Cooper and Maddow. King is leaving. Piers will have 90 days to develop and audience.
Well, by golly, I was right. My family is larger than Ms. Behar’s audience!
(I don't watch TV).
I knew she was on "The Spew" with Baba Wawa, but I didn't know she had her own show.
Maybe she needs to shout a little more, to generate some excitement...
It's sad when artists like Al Kooper and B.B. King draw such a small crowd...
OK with all these ratings for a more “fair and balanced” news...why are there so many democrats in this Country?
I just do not get it.
And where is MONEY ROCKS...on the ratings. I LOVE that show more then any other one!
I must have missed the stellar ratings for CNNs Client Number 9?
For whatever reason I don’t enjoy Shep Smith’s program. I always go looking at fox business channel when he shows up.
Drama but no substance in both the show and the host.
Wow, O’Reilly milked the Juan Williams thing for all it was worth. He’s sooooo far above everyone else for understanding the average American’s mixture of entertainment and politics wants. Hats off to a guy that I really can’t stand to watch.
What’s also gratifying is the plummet of Hardball down below Ed Schultz. Matthews is 100K below that dolt. I’ll bet he’s having a hissy fit.
In the race to the scum-sucking bottom of the sewer, no one can touch Behar. Go, Behar! Burrow deeper!
I can’t believe that Beck is lower than Shep Smith. And they just signed Shep up to a new contract. ARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!! Fox needs to get rid of Shep!!!
Behar has worked hard to get to last place.
That's sad.
Seems that the impact of the MSM is greatly exaggerated.
Send Maude Behar some dead flowers for coming in dead last.
Funny story... there’s a whole cadre of liberals in my office place, and they constantly bitch about FoxNews. They say they lie, obfuscate, pick your Liberal meme.
Every morning I go into the break room, grab a cup of coffee, and turn on the TV. When surfing through the channels, I notice that FoxNews is conspicuously absent. Curious, I go into the TV menu and notice that someone actually took FoxNews out of the TV lineup. You can directly punch the channel number in, but you can’t “surf” to it.
So I put FoxNews back in the lineup, and a few days later I repeat the process and notice it’s out of the lineup again. Feeling a little miffed, I go back, re-enable FoxNews and go one step further and remove CNN, MSNBC, CNNHN, etc. from the lineup.
Wouldn’t you know it, the next day we all get an email from the boss requesting that the TV be left alone from now on.
The next morning I come in, same thing, FoxNews out of the lineup, but I didn’t change anything this time. I told the boss, but he seemed to think it was a childish and stupid thing and not worth bringing up.
So now I just turn on the TV, go to FoxNews and leave it on that channel when I turn off the TV. I’ve heard grumbling from the Libs who go in there when it’s on, but none of them dare argue with me about politics. They know I’d take ‘em down a peg.
Yeah, but you’ll have to admit that Behar is a great fund raiser for Republicans! ;)
I don't think the number of people watching are anywhere near the noted numbers - it's more than likely that the same people are watching more than one show, possibly all the shows on each station. Therefore, O'Reilly is top of the heap - plus he has another million or so watching three hours later. A million less continue watching as Hannity comes on, etc.
