Charlotte Bergman Gets Campaign Boost from National Figures (obama clone incumbent Steve Cohen)video

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - For someone who her incumbent opponent has dismissed as a "fringe candidate", 9th District Republican congressional challenger, Charlotte Bergmann, stridently sends a "mainstream message"- granted with a conservative bent.

“Success comes with people voting to insure the government stays out of the business of people who are trying to grow their businesses,” said Bergman.

“I don't think of her as a maverick in the sense of being a maverick in ideas. But, I know one thing. Her ideas will be for the people. All the people,” said John Willingham, former Shelby County Commissioner.

If the variety of people who attended an enthusiastic rally at Bergmann's modest, but organized East Memphis campaign headquarters is any indication, the straightforward appeal of the Memphis mother and businesswoman maybe growing even as the days of the congressional race are waning. But, are there enough voters and enough time for Bergmann to pull off the upset of the century in Shelby County politics?

“Crossover is just a word. And there are a number of people that will crossover to vote their pocketbooks and the concerns that are basic to them and their families,” said Bergman.
