Couple's 'Vow Renewal' in Maldives Was String of Insults
AOL News ^

(Oct. 29) -- It should have been one of the happiest days of their lives. The European couple had decided to renew their wedding vows in the tropical Maldives islands in the Indian Ocean and paid $1,300 for the ceremony to be conducted in the exotic local Dhivehi language.

***

The couple -- who are thought to be either Swiss or French -- hold their hands up in prayer, and glance happily at each other throughout the 15-minute ceremony, blissfully unaware of the words' true meaning. "You fornicate and make a lot of children," the celebrant continued. "You drink and you eat pork. Most of the children that you have are marked with spots and blemishes." At one point the camera shifts to the official-looking wedding document the man, identified as Hussein Didi, is supposedly reading off. It turns out to be a list of regulations for hotel staff.

Lesson: Stay home and renew your vows in the presence of your own trusted congregation.

My question: why renew your vows at all? Did the first ones expire or wear out or something?

I told my husband I loved him on our wedding day. If I change my mind, I’ll let him know.

I agree. What should a couple of post-Christian unchurched Europeans expect when they buy a ceremony in a foreign land from people they don't know whose language they don't speak and in a religion that don't believe in? They are a mockery and were mocked.

Maldives is an island paradise populated by Islamic scum, in the Arabian Sea.

They are a breeding ground for terrorists. I wouldn't mind Britain re-taking the islands as an expansion to Diego Garcia. Or for that matter, the Indians doing the same (right by their doorstep).

that’s really bizarre

not going to be good for tourism?

oh, who knows, the servile minds of dhimmis can rationalize away all kinds of demeaning insults

I should be clear: this was a shameful thing to do to guests.

The ringleader will never find work in the Maldives again - and maybe the Maldives as a whole will suffer a slump from this outrage to hospitality.

But that doesn’t stop it from being hilarious. Because it just is.

How in the HELL can you be in a place like this, surrounded by God’s glory and still have a heart full of hate....

Oh, I agree. The logical, responsible part of me says this guy was properly fired. And if I'd paid that much to a luxury resort to be abused in that way I'd be pissed. Still . . . .

But that doesn’t stop it from being hilarious. Because it just is.

Yup!

more info in this article - difficult to believe this was a one-time thing, probably a whole slew of these "renew the vows" ceremonies have done stuff like this - resentments toward foreign infidel couple with money and the couple has no idea what's really being said:

Mocking Swiss Couple in the Maldives

These are people diseased with Satan's religion, Islam. There is no love in them for they know not God, or His one True Son, Jesus, who is love.

Those who do not know God do not know love. Hate is all they have, and it shows like an infected sore.

Some people jump for the idea of romance on a tropical beach and don’t think things through.

Just searched on “Maldives wedding packages” and there are loads of travel agencies offering such things to the Maldives - one website said at least 12 resorts in the Maldives offer these things.

It can be the “renewal of vows” as appeared to be the attempt in this video, but apparently a lot of infidel couples may do a civil wedding at home and then a “Maldives wedding” which is registered as a Muslim wedding locally there??

Sorry, but this IS funny, especially if they were French.

I think someone in the Maldives is a Fawlty Towers fan.
This is like when Basil talked to Manuel.
