Obama will speak about today's terror threats. Besides speaking about Christine O'Donnell closing the gap with Chris Coons, Obama is also expected to talk about the packages from Yemen via UPS planes scare (and probably the plane getting a fighter escort to NYC now.)
It is interesting that Gibbs made sure he just gave the timeline facts which was very odd. He also made sure that was the last question they took. If the Democrats were smart right now they would shut this fake story down before it blows up in their face.
I’m working hard mentally to grasp the timeline and events here. Something(s) just wrong.
Around 10-something last night Obama is told there’s problems with bombs/possible bombs on cargo planes headed for the US?
At some point ACTUAL IED’s are discovered on- or about to be on planes headed for the US?
No directive is given to UPS, FED-EX or others that they are to ground all planes with packages from Yemen?
None of this is announced til late morning when many are preoccupied with the economy/elections, resulting in wall-to-wall commercial free AlQ coverage.
Then- a passeger jet from the UAE is escorted by military jets fromCanada and the US- because there may be a package from Yemen in the cargo hold? Why, if there was concerfn, wasn’t the plance immediately landed in Maine or New HAmpshire? Were the pilots suspected of something? Wasthe package expected to blow mid-air? If so what difference would it have made to have a military escort? WHY was there a military escort for cargo?
I don’t know what- but somehing really smells.
Maybe UPS, but not Fedex - worked for them for too many years. The way they operate is in complete conflict with O’s methods.

Fox is doing a BBC feed (click above) and the British press has a lot of questions. They are questioning that the US said they do not know the scope of this threat and they don’t have any arrests. They seemed like they don’t know why.
They are asking why did one of the planes reach the UK and then go onto the US. They just said that Al Qaida is very successful with this because they have been able to spread fear.
[Now over the weekend and on Monday, they will ramp up fear about going to polling places.]
That will only keep the Rats home.

I'm with you. It almost sounds like they tried to come up with a scary story to go along with stuff that zer0's people planted themselves. Hmmmm.
Whatever it turns out to be and whoever did it it was a flop 'cause nothing blew up and NOBODY got scared except maybe some people on the actual planes. The American People said "ho hum."
Since we didn't get skeert, then the Won's Great Speech meant nothing. It was worthless and only gave street cred to the (possibly imaginary) terrorists.

I am glad it is not just me....I am completely confused about this story.
I always assumed that when a plane might have a bomb, they land somewhere safer than a major airport, and land right away?????
Remember years ago when we suspected a cargo ship, they would not let the ship get anywhere near the port, stopped and searched it on the open water, irrc.
There’s not a whole lot here, and if BO is going on with his political weekend, the political winds will not be interrupted. Story gone by Sunday. Best thing we can do is to ignore this story.
Actually Fed Ex is non-Union and is very much against Card Check.
On the other hand UPS is a Union shop that supports Card Check.

I'm beginning to wonder if this isn't a reaction to the MSM thinking Brak looked weak on Stewart's show; he can't stand people looking down at him, and I can certainly see something like this being engineered to make him look like a Real Man again.
So basically the other two countries found these little bomb-ettes, and not the USA. Hmmm.
They had to wait until Rush Limbaugh was off the air.
Reminds me of back in the day in the ‘70s when yet another airplane was highjacked to Cuba - people got so bored with it, it became page 2 news.
