A total of four Democratic officials and political operatives have now pleaded guilty to voter fraud-related felony charges in an alleged scheme to steal a New York election. The latest guilty pleas expose the ease with which political insiders can apparently manipulate the electoral system and throw an election their way, by the forging of signatures of unsuspecting voters that are then cast as real votes. "The phrase they use is: 'making sure they vote the right way,'" said a source close to the case, which is unfolding in Troy, N.Y. "It is not a Democratic or Republican thing. ......

First, the bad news: They recovered President Obama's teleprompter. So, anybody going to his speeches on the current Darth Vader armored bus tour through North Carolina and Virginia is still going to get the full 22-minute monty about how he's there to listen. The Real Good Talker's top speech aide was in a truck stolen from a Richmond hotel parking lot early Monday morning and recovered in another hotel parking lot about 12 hours later. The truck, actually belonging to the Defense Department that handles presidential communications, contained the "Now Say This" machine as well as nearly a quarter-million dollars...

Talk about the ultimate joy ride. A local NBC affiliate in Richmond, Virginia reports that thieves stole a truck carrying hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment that travels with President Obama, including his Teleprompters. Officials recovered the truck on Monday. Here's the NBC 12 breakdown of the caper: When you see President Obama speak, there is a pretty typical setup including the presidential seal on a podium, the see-thru Teleprompter and a portable sound system. Thieves saw the truck carrying that equipment and couldn't resist the target.

Debt Man Riding, Part 2. Barack Hussein Obama, mmm, mmm, mmm, out there on another bus tour wasting precious fuels, polluting the skies, ruining the climate, when all he would have to do is walk to the Capitol. All he needs is votes from Democrats in the Senate. If he really wants to pass this boondoggle of a jobs bill, just walk across the Capitol, get over there to the Senate, and get those two extra votes. Voila, done! But, no, he has to get in a Canadian-made bus and drive all over North Carolina. He was in Asheville. You...

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) – NBC12 has uncovered one of those stories that makes you think: "How in the world does that happen?!" A truck filled with President Obama's podiums and audio equipment was stolen in Henrico just days before his visit to Chesterfield. We confirmed an investigation with the U.S. Defense Department. There are still a lot of questions. The biggest one being did the thieves intentionally target the President's truck or did they take advantage of a crime of opportunity and give a big "uh-oh" when they saw what was inside. When you see President Obama speak, there is...

Truck With Obama's Teleprompter, Audio Equipment Stolen in Virginia Published October 18, 2011 | FoxNews.com In an ironic twist, President Obama's Teleprompter had an unscripted moment when it was apparently stolen along with a stash of other audio equipment inside a truck awaiting the president's arrival in Virginia.

There's one less thing President Obama has over his wife Michelle: mastery of the Teleprompter. Speech coach Christine Jahnke, author of the new book The Well-Spoken Woman, reveals that she taught the first lady how to use a Teleprompter in advance of her pitch in 2009 to the Olympic Committee in Denmark to pick Chicago for the 2016 Olympics, won by Rio de Janeiro.

One of the young wordsmiths behind President Obama’s oratory is leaving the administration, a crack in a close-knit speechwriting team that helped propel Obama to the White House and has played a major role in shaping his words ever since. Adam Frankel is leaving to become executive director of Digital Promise, a new nonprofit group that will explore ways technology can be used to strengthen education. “I worked with the president on a lot of his education speeches,’’ Frankel said in an interview Friday. “So I was thinking about what I want to do and I realized that I wanted...

Apparently President Barack Obama’s speechwriters thought repeating the phrase “pass this bill” over and over again would magically resonate with members of Congress. The president used the line 17 times in his Thursday night address. Did he overdo it? On Friday’s “Rush Limbaugh Show,” fill-in host Mark Steyn said that catchphrase was more reminiscent of an infomercial than a presidential proclamation.

Many of you have seen the new bumper stickers from various conservative groups that goes something like this: OBAMA = One Big A$$ Mistake, America! That definition has now been added to UrbanDictionary.com, and with your help, it can be "thumbed-up" to the top-ranking position. Left-wingers succeeded in labeling Bush as a "failure." But we can turn the tables and get America to realize that Obama really is one big mistake! Click here to give this new definition the "thumbs-up." Thanks!

A young and witty speechwriter for an eloquent but exhausted president escapes a struggling White House and stodgy capital city for Hollywood, where he beats the odds to find fame and fortune writing comedy for more bankable stars. So might read the script treatment about the aspirations of Jon Lovett, an Obama speechwriter and the reigning champion of official Washington’s stand-up comedy circuit. In mid-September, Lovett, 29, plans to leave the administration to write for television out West.

Sen. Jim DeMint vowed Wednesday to try to block President Barack Obama from addressing a joint session of Congress on the same day as a Republican presidential debate next week. Obama could learn something from the GOP, DeMint reasoned, in adding his voice — and his vote — to a growing chorus of Republican objections. “The president should pick another night. I’m planning to watch the Republican primary debate … and the president should watch it, too,” The iconic South Carolina conservative said. “If he has a jobs proposal, put it in writing, give us a cost estimate, and send...

But if they accept Boehner’s suggestion of Thursday night, they will find the president pitted against a ratings behemoth much tougher to overwhelm than any candidates’ debate—the kickoff of the NFL season, with the defending Super Bowl champion Green Bay Packers taking on the New Orleans Saints at 8:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on NBC.

There’s one employee of the White House — other than the Teleprompter of the United States, that is — who never gets a break. His name is Pete Souza. He’s the official presidential photographer. Last week, Souza was hard at work making President Obama look hard at work while vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard.

Infiltration of the federal government by members of the radical Muslim Brotherhood is worse than some have warned recently, says a former FBI special agent in Washington. The agent confirmed that at least three operatives of the Egypt-based Brotherhood – whose credo is "Jihad is our way and death in the cause of Allah is our dream" – have penetrated the Obama administration. The shocking charge was first leveled by Muslim reformer Tarek Fatah during a recent speech in Toronto. "Today in the White House, there are three members of the Muslim Brotherhood that influence Obama's policy," he told the...

Stimulating the economy at clubhouses across America... VINEYARD HAVEN, Mass. (AP) — President Barack Obama has once again hit the golf trifecta as he vacations on Martha’s Vineyard. He spent more than two hours at Mink Meadows Golf Club on Tuesday, a semi-private, nine-hole club on the island’s north shore. It was Obama’s fourth outing since he arrived last week for a 10-day vacation. His golf partners included his friend Eric Whitaker and White House chef Sam Kass.

Crossposted at RWNO, my personal web site! In the "It would be sad if it wasn't so funny" department, Obama's use of a teleprompter is legendary. So let's look at what the MSM and Democrat Party says about Obama's speaking skills, his reliance on and use of a teleprompter, his inability to speak without it, and what fun is being made of Obama. What the MSM and the Democrat Party says about Obama's speaking skills The MSM has always said that Barack Obama can speak well. Here is an example of what the MSM says: Lolita Breckenridge said, "He's...

President Obama took to the podium today to talk to Americans about the White House’s initiatives to help veterans get back into the work force and what the government is doing to encourage a health economy. But before he dove into the details, the President stood at his podium for a good minute or so in silence, interrupting only to let the audience know that he was “just waiting, here.” The President didn’t quite specify what he was waiting for as he stared out into the audience for the minute, though a number of things could have been delaying his...

After meeting for exactly 90 minutes, the president and members of congress achieved absolutely nothing except for what ZH readers already knew: that a debt deal has to be reached by July 22 or else. "President Barack Obama said Sunday that "we need to" work out a debt deal within the next 10 days as he convened a meeting with congressional leaders, aiming to fashion a deficit reduction package for the next 10 years. As the meeting opened, Obama and the leaders sat around the table in Sunday casual dress. Asked whether the White House and Congress could "work it...

President Barack Obama says technological innovations such as robots can help pump jobs into the economy and spur growth in clean energy and advanced manufacturing. In his radio and Internet address Saturday, the president echoed a plan he unveiled Friday in Pittsburgh to join the federal government, universities and corporations and re-ignite American manufacturing with an emphasis on cutting-edge research and new technologies. "Their mission is to come up with a way to get ideas from the drawing board to the manufacturing floor to the marketplace as swiftly as possible, which will help create quality jobs, and make our businesses...

On Tuesday, President Obama signed an Executive Order creating SelectUSA, a new government-wide initiative that will promote the United States as the premier place to do business globally and help attract business operations to the U.S., in order to spur economic growth and job creation. Yesterday, I launched this important new initiative with the President of the Business Roundtable, John Engler, and CEOs from a number of multinational companies. SelectUSA comes at a critical juncture in our nation’s economic recovery. In order to encourage foreign firms to do business and U.S. firms to keep their business here in America, SelectUSA...

Apparently, a lot of people consider President Barack Obama to be bumblingly inarticulate. "The guy can't talk his way out of a paper bag!" a reader wrote to me recently. "Sarah Palin is a brilliant speaker. It's the president whose sentences are undiagrammable," said another in response to a column I wrote about Palin. It's not just my readers, nor is it exclusively conservatives, who hold this view. A Google search of "does Obama have a speech impediment" turns up several pages of discussion among the president's supporters and critics alike. Admittedly, the president is given to a lot of...

President Barack Obama speaks to members of British Parliment while The Lord Speaker Baroness Hayman (R) listens inside Westminster Hall in London, May 25, 2011. (REUTERS/Larry Downing) The Brits panned Obama’s empty speech today to Parliament. The Telegraph reported: The pictures were better than the words… …Perhaps Mr Obama was smothered also by his audience, which remained stubbornly unresponsive. For most of the time the President had nothing to bounce off: no applause and certainly no shouts of praise or blame as might be heard in an American church or at an American political rally. The presidential text sounded as...

Not surprisingly, he’s going to frame it as an “Arab world at a crossroads” sort of thing in the wake of the Bin Laden raid. Either they can follow Osama’s example into Islamist rule and intolerance or they can push for democracy and economic reform. That’s actually a bold move rhetorically by The One given how things are shaping up in Egypt. Having presented the choice as one between progress and Osama Bin Laden, what happens if, as expected, the Muslim Brotherhood wins big in the parliamentary elections in September? (The Brotherhood’s alliance with Egypt’s Salafists, true Bin Ladenites, could...

President Obama today privately thanked the Navy SEALs who cornered and killed Osama bin Laden, congratulating them for a "job well done." The president met the elite Team 6 squad on the same day that bin Laden's terror network, al Qaeda, admitted that its leader was dead. Al Qaeda vowed that it would try to make America pay for his death. Among the team members the president met was the SEAL who fired the shot that killed bin Laden, though he was not told which one it was, according to administration sources.

On top of the more than half a million dollars it spends on speechwriters, the White House is using tens of thousands of taxpayer dollars on a public relations firm headed by Democratic image maker Michael Sheehan — once dubbed by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton as an “extraordinary media coach” who helped her master the teleprompter. Mr. Sheehan’s firm, Sheehan Associates, could receive more than $100,000 under a current contract and has been providing occasional speech and consulting services to the White House since 2009, federal purchasing records show.

Barack Obama, the purported master orator, is spending a hundred thousand dollars of our tax money on an outside consultant to help him with his teleprompter skills. Perhaps last minute coaching is the reason why Sunday night's OBL speech was delayed so long. The hundred grand comes on top of the $624,000 payroll of the White House speechwriting team, so Obama's masterful oratory is costing us close to three quarter of million bucks a year. With that kind of money, Gilbert Gottfried could sound good. Jim McElhatton of the Washington Times has the scoop: The White House is spending...

Now that Donald Trump appears on the verge of launching a presidential campaign, it is worth reflecting on the meaning of this low moment in American political history. Trump is a clown and a buffoon, and the odds of him winning even one Republican caucus or primary appear slim. But there is no denying that Trump has managed to tap into something genuinely worrisome in American politics. Democrats may be tempted to take pleasure in the fact that Trump will likely push the GOP presidential field to the right, and thereby help Obama in 2012. But this would be sheer...

It's amazing how times have changed. In mid-2004, President George W. Bush was still in his first term while Barack Obama was only a newly-elected State Senator. One other difference: Mr. Obama had "never" used a teleprompter before. Of course, today the President has not delivered a single speech during his Administration without one. Yet with the 2004 Democratic National Convention on the horizon, Mr. Obama decided that he would work from one. Talking to CBS in 2004, Obama said that he "prefers to speak off the cuff instead of working from a written text. Tuesday night (the DNC) will...

Watching Obama make a speech at a wind power company in PA. Apparently no notes or TOTUS in sight. He's stumbling, mumbling and jive talking his way through it. No reaction from the audience.

So -- no endgame or exit strategy, a slightly imploring tone and the emergence of an Obama Doctrine: Got it. As to theater criticism, President Obama's use of three teleprompters for his speech tonight underscored why his reliance on the TOTUS is so problematic. Gazing left to right is not great television -- he wasn't making a connection. Only when the president stopped looking around and stared into the head-on camera at the end did his message sound urgent, direct and authoritative. "To summarize, then, in just one month, the United States has worked with our international partners to mobilize...

the obamites are always lifting lines from Lincoln. they are quite obsessed with him. tell me that he didn't crib this line: Obama last night : "There is nothing I can say that will fill the hole in your hearts, but I know this: the hopes of nation are here with you." I wondered yesterday whether Robert Gibbs jumped or was pushed and noted that President Barack Obama’s words indicated that it was “not an entirely voluntary departure”. It’s being reported by John King on CNN right now that Gibbs wanted to be a presidential counsellor – something he’s been putting about for quite a while – but William Daley, the new chief of staff, nixed this because he believed that too many cooks would spoil the presidential broth. So that’s why Gibbs is out. Additionally, King reports that Valerie Jarrett, whose sole qualification to being a senior counsellor seems to be...

Only partially hyperbolic: March 20, 2006: This was the last stand-alone debt limit vote on which then-Senator Obama voted. He was one of 48 members to vote against the increase, which passed with 52 votes. He said: “The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can't pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally....

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Ending a two-week vacation, President Barack Obama is appealing to newly-empowered Republicans to resist jockeying for the White House in 2012 and work with him to get the economy growing and the jobless back to work. Facing anything but a political soft landing after his holiday stay in Hawaii, Obama told reporters en route to the capital Tuesday that he understands Republicans, who recaptured the House in last fall's elections, "are going to play to their base for a certain period of time."
