Mr. Paladino, a businessman from Buffalo, has previously landed in hot water for calling gay-pride parades disgusting and for forwarding racist emails to his friends. I knew (and agree) about the former, but I hadn't heard about any racist emails. Does anyone know about or have a link about the latter?

There goes Paladino again, being a little loose with the truth. Gillibrand is anything but little.

I can remember the ceremony after Gov. Paterson picked Gillibrand to replace Hillary Clinton, Schumer said on stage w/Gillibrand, that Gillibrand would change her position on guns when she became U.S. senator.
She was AGAINST gun control as congresswoman, and I naively thought she was sincere, and was even going to call her office, and tell her not to let Schumer pressure her.
Schumer declared her views would evolve on gun control.
YES, Kirsten Gillibrand is surely Charles Schumer’s little girl!

Sorry for the lack of decorum. He should have called her a whore, a bitch, a witch and then stormed off the set of his own television show.

WALLACE: The new senator, Kirsten Gillibrand, gets a 100 percent rating from the National Rifle Association. She was the only Democrat in the New York delegation, congressional delegation, to vote against the $700 billion bailout. Is she really the best choice to be the senator from New York?
snip
SCHUMER: Her ADA rating, I think, was in the high 90s, strongly pro- choice, strong on gay rights. There are some issues where she would disagree with the majority of New Yorkers. Certainly with me, gun control is one of those. As you know, I was the sponsor of the Brady law and the assault weapons ban.
But let me say this. As Kirsten begins to represent the whole state, and she’s already downstate listening, you learn that the you learn the damage that gun violence, for instance, causes in cities and that many of those guns come from out of state. So nothing the city or state can do on its own can stop that.”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid had an unusual form of praise for New York's junior senator, Kirsten Gillibrand, this morning at the fundraiser Mayor Bloomberg hosted for him at his townhouse -- referring to her as "the hottest member" as she sat just a few feet away, according to three sources. The comment prompted Gillibrand to turn red, according to the sources, and created a bit of stir among the small crowd there. "It was pretty shocking when he said it," said one source familiar with the remark and the reaction. A Reid spokesman confirmed it happened, but also noted...

Will someone please throw Harry Reid into the nearest cold shower? The Nevada Democrat set eyeballs rolling the other night at Mayor Bloomberg's townhouse when he said of New York's unelected junior senator, Kirsten Gillibrand: "We in the Senate refer to Sen. Gillibrand as the hottest member." Whereupon Gillibrand reportedly turned a bright red -- suggesting that the Senate's most accomplished flip-flopper is capable of embarrassment after all. Which is more than can be said for Reid. The Senate majority leader's list of gaffes and goofs is legendary. Remember when he referred to Barack Obama as having "no Negro dialect,...

Desperately trying to think of something both positive and credible to say about New York State's accidental U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid blurted out that Gillibrand is the Senate's "hottest" member. Reid's remark, made on September 20 at a ritzy private Democratic Party fundraiser in Manhattan, was sufficiently unimportant to qualify for massive media coverage. Unfortunately for Senator Gillibrand, part of the fallout from this particular instance of media pursuit of the trivia has been to make New York State residents more aware of her and curious about her record. What they are now beginning...

Tell the NRA this is why the donations into their coffers have dropped off like one of the poor souls jumping out of the Twin Towers never to return. May God have mercy on their souls, the victims of 9/11, not the NRA.

Please contact me if youre interested in being added on or taken off the Carl Paladino for Governor ping list. This looks to be a fairly high volume ping list for a while, probably until the election.

I’ve had my doubts about Mr. Paladino for a while, but after hearing him on a teleconference townhall meeting today. I LOVE THIS MAN. He is us. He is straightforward, outspoken (which has gotten him in hot water) and a true conservative. I have never in my lifetime been excited about living in New York State. Often I have wondered why my family decided to move to New York State. . . Dutch settlers in the late 1600’s. . . owned lots of property.
Regarding the racist email. It seems early on in his campaign Paladino received an Obama cartoon or anti-Obama comments and forwarded them to his email list. (I believe that was the story out at the time. . . not 100% sure.) But, if it was really important and could have hurt his campaign, everyone would know exactly what was in the email. His emails, like Palin’s emails were hacked.
Paladino has given tons of money to a Christian soup kitchen (St. Luke’s in Buffalo) for over 10 years. He also employees over 400 people both black and white. The man is not racist.

The NRA also endorses incumbents, if both candidates have the same NRA rating, so the Dem incumbent, Scott Murphy, who won Gillibrand’s seat, got the NRA endorsement, even though his Republican opponent, Chris Gibson, also got an A rating.
People who don’t know that the NRA endorses INCUMBENTS will think that Chris Gibson, a decorated veteran, is not as strong on our 1st amendment rights.
Thankfully, though, Chris Gibson is 9 points ahead in the polls, and Bill Clinton is coming to the area to support Murphy. lol
