Powerful Casino Industry Bets Heavily on Reid Again

Las Vegas - If Republican Sharron Angle unseats Nevada Sen. Harry Reid on Nov. 2, it would be a defeat not just for the Democratic Party but also for the gambling industry, which has historically helped turn elections in this state. The industry is so dominant here—accounting for 17% of employment and a third of state tax revenue—that Nevada is sometimes said to have just one political party: the Gaming Party.

Yeah, but with the Dem’s in charge, everybody goes broke.

How do you gamble if you’re broke?

Duh.

I’ve got a bad feeling that this one is in the process of being stolen by Reid and his mob.

OBAMA VOTERS WHO HAVE REMORSE AND REALIZE THEY WERE WRONG...

"You may ask yourself
How do I work this?
You may ask yourself
Where is that large automobile?
You may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful house!
You may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful wife!

You may ask yourself
What is that beautiful house?
You may ask yourself
Where does that highway lead to?
You may ask yourself
Am I right?... Am I wrong?
You may say to yourself
My God!... what have I done?"

Could we please refrain from posting these discouraging articles for the next few days? We need encouragement right now, not discouragement. It’s gotten to where, here of late, that Free Republic is such a downer, I’m reluctant to log on.

Sorry. That's a no-go. We need to make sure we know who and what we are up against. No more ignoring the 'wolf at our door'. These people are playing for keeps. We had better turn out and vote, or kiss our assets good bye.

Do you think that people sat out voting because of that? I don’t think it made a difference either way...but the media is not to be believed. Frankly, I don’t like all the ‘landslide’ predictions that we are seeing...it seems way too cocky and over the top. We know that we are against a despicable enemy who will have to be blasted from power and that’s even if we win. We need to not be over-confident.

This seems to be just plain stupid. The Democrats, in the form of a Democratically controlled Congress since 2006, have destroyed the economy and driven unemployment to high and sustained levels. The radical leftist agenda being pushed by the Democrats promises to place further significant financial hardships on the America people. (obama/Reid/Pelosi-care, cap-and-tax, etc.). Nevada is a state driven by gambling and entertainment. How well do you think they will do as everyone's disposable income continues to dry up? Nevada already has something like 14% unemployment. A couple more years of Democratic anti-business, un-American and anti-American socialist/fascist policies, and Nevada's unemployment will top 25%. Well, maybe not, people that can will simply leave the state and go where they can (maybe) find jobs. It would be interesting to look at some historical data on the total number of people employed in Nevada - get a true measure of jobs lost in the State, not cushioned as a percentage that is softened by a loss of population too. The State's economy will continue it's downward spiral with 'rats in power.

I honestly do not see how anyone with more than two brain cells to rub together could vote for any more leftist Democratic BS.

We are on the same page. I was just wondering if you thought the ‘positive’ coverage in 2008 made some sit out? (really I was asking for your viewpoint)

I just remember the sickening feeling at the end because I believed the hype and thought “we are going to do this”. Of course McCain rolled like a beached whale...conceding way too early (imo). I couldn’t believe it.

Who can blame them when it's so called (buttinski) conservatives always screaming about the evils of drinking and gambling?...as if it's any of their business what people do with their own money.

IMHO, John McCain ran a terribly weak campaign against socialist, POTUS Barack Hussein Obama. It was RINO in nature and failed miserably. He knew every morsel, every detail about Obama’s love and idol worship for both the Black racist/hate America, Reverand Jeremiah Wright and Black racist, destroy America, Louis Farrakahn, etc., but he remained the “gentleman” and let Obama off the hook. Now, again, IMHO, all this blabber means nothing. All the media bad news is planned to discourage and defeat our side. So......if you have any brains at all, disregard any news you hear or read and just simply get out and vote on Election Day to totally destroy the Democrat Party in Nevada and in all the rest of the forty-nine states. Because, if you weaken, you destroy America, her economy, her jobs, her opportunities, her freedom, her liberty and, most of all her future!!! The great state of Nevada will do ten times better without Harry Reid, because a private business sector and economy free to grow and expand jobs and new business opportunity will help residents of Nevada more then failed Democrat policy. Wake up, Nevada, Harry Reid is poison for Nevada, no matter what the gaming industry says or does. He is the problem, not a solution, to Nevada economic and growth ills. So.... get your butts in gear, avoid the doomsday talk and....get out and vote for Ms. Angle on Election Day, November 2, 2010!!!

Broken glass, broken legs sickness, floods, rains ...dead bodies lying in the street will not keep me away from the polls. I’ve never missed a general election in my life and this one is the most critical.

Yes...McCain was a POS candidate. The majority of the people that voted for his ass did so because of Palin. It’s been a nightmarish 2 years and dear God, I hope we can get at least some relief on Tuesday.

btw...I do not let the news dictate my actions.
